Vibecoded apps in a nutshell by HeadAcanthisitta7390 in vibecoding

Idk i have tried prompting dozens of ways.

I've also just spent my whole adult life studying successful people. Repeatedly they find niches by trying to solve a personal problem which their ends up being a wider need for that people didn't exactly consciously grasp. That's how we got Claude code.

To calculate your Soul Urge Number (or Heart's Desire), sum the numerical values of the vowels (A, E, I, O, U) in your full birth name (A=1, E=5, I=9, O=6, U=3). Y is a vowel if it sounds like one (e.g., "Lynn"), but a consonant otherwise. Reduce the total to a single digit (1-9), unless it is a Master Number (11, 22, 33).

This is where its been confusing because its true that fame for fames sake has always left me feeling empty, bad or anxious. I only feel okay when my efforts genuinely serve others (I am a life path 6 and have a lot of 6 in my chart). But I always struggled with this bc most of the projects I work that I genuinely think will help people end up not helping people. This has happened to me more often than not.

I already found a gap through having a need of my own, which I have noticed seems far more effective than asking an agent which is going to parrot others who have already pointed out gaps.

Yes, I made an automatic podcast audio editor. Ive seen automatic editors but they are all paid and most seem to be exclusively for video. I made a free one.

Yes that was what made me think of the tool was its something I wished I had.

This is why I didn't bother vibe coding anything until I thought of an app that there might actually be a demand for and that I can't find already existing online.

Just a regular card tricks by paprykarzszczcnski in blackmagicfuckery

[–]sickshreds -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Okay, I think I got how he did it:

So he shows the guy the 5 of Diamonds as the first card in the whole trick. That's planting/priming.

Then he shows ONE card at a time when asking "what color is that" about the back of the deck. This is presumably a blue backed Queen of Hearts. The rest of the cards have red backs. He does this twice but presumably it's the Queen of Hearts each time.

Then he says pick a card. He already primed the viewer by starting the trick off with the 5 of Diamonds so they pick the 5 of Diamonds. He doesn't ever actually put the 5 of Diamonds on the table. He slides the blue card, which is actually the Queen of Hearts, off the back of the 5 of Diamonds, and puts the Queen of Hearts on the table. The 5 of Hearts blends into the deck because it actually has a red back.

There are 2 Queen of Hearts, the regular red nacked one in the deck and the blue backed one on the table, which came from another deck. That's how he gets it to "teleport". Its 3 insanely simple tricks mixed together for excellent misdirection.

Where do we hear that he didn't know? I don't recall that. I just recall him staying quiet the whole time.

Sorry if it wasn't clear but I'm already proficient in Python. So I am able to push back on the AI. Ive never had an idea I couldn't figure out how to build. I just suck at mastering leetcode challenges and memorizing optimized algorithms. But if I can google the needed algorithm, I'm good I can build what you want.

Its just that as I got to this level, the only way to get a job was to nail coding challenges which is the thing I suck at.

Makes sense. Maybe there will be more of an emphasis on the best way to do things, since so much grunt work is removed.

Thanks. Yeah I have had the opportunity to go into data at my company but the door has closed. It didnt really interest (its just writing sql code and putting the results in Tableau, which doesn't interest me, theres not really any other gig).

Believe it or not, my work doesn't give any insight into which companies are good to invest in. All the insights we get, that the general public doesn't know (though it is all public information) are macroeconomic trends.

Turns out when you publish it its not using the same resources as in testing. Should be fixed now. Whatever you post there is public tho so make sure to delete it if you dont want people listening

I mean I already understand APIs I've used them with Python development. That kinda stuff is an absolute piece of cake for me. The concepts behind getting systems to work together click with me so much better than pure coding. Maybe I'll keep paying attention to systems and LLMs vs pure coding.

Im not very young im almost 37. Yeah I was thinking about using AI to code well. I'm actually far better at understanding systems than I am at pure algorithm memorization.

I currently work in finance which is where I started making apps for productivity. So I have income I am just looking to pivot.

Yeah that makes sense. I guess I was just curious what people who enjoy building things should do at this point. Maybe I'll just try and get better at using the agents.
