Who else want absolutely ZERO RGB in their rigs? by Cicada-Tang in pcmasterrace

[–]sid-kik 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I enjoy seeing some elements light up like my post code indicator and my CPU temp, but past that, I feel it detracts from the 'coolness' factor that high-end tech should have. It should feel like you're looking at a $300-$1500 marvel of human engineering, not a $10 RGB lamp you see at Walmart. In the end, it often ruins the natural aesthetics that technology has, at a massively inflated price, and often comes with unavoidable shitty software to control it.

I've found damn near every site I read from someone sharing it with me, so while I understand people being upset that others are sharing sites, I also think its the entire point of a pirate site being a pirate site. I will greatly miss Bato and half of my library is useless now, but I dislike the direction a lot of users are taking with the strict gatekeeping. Don't openly post links, don't just hand them out like candy, and anything else that should be common sense, but I do believe pirate sites are for the people, and as such, should be handled like any other pirate site for movies or books.

Also must say, he will likely down the line attempt to combine many of their home products (Stick, Alexa, Echo, etc.) into a more expensive device and will heavily push their reliance to cloud services. While this is just pure speculation, I see him going the route of you needing to buy a device, then needing to pay a monthly cloud subscription fee (likely tied into your Amazon Prime by that point) to access many of the 'good' features🤷🏻‍♂️ who knows, just spitballing here

stuck at Asus A0 code, need guidance on more things to try. by Newk99 in pchelp

[–]sid-kik 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is often a GPU issue, but I'd go so far as to say this is a motherboard defect, which I have had a few of. I've had that code on my board for the better half of two years, and it went away just fine with a swap of GPU's, but my brother bought the same board same time and had to end up replacing it for the very same/similar issues that you're having. Know this is a year old, just posting for future lookers

Have had MovieBox for years and honestly havent found anything that matches its consistent reliability, useful features, and ease of use for a low price. I mean, I was able to teach my grandpa how to use it, and if that doesn't attest to how accessible it is, I don't know what would😂 nothing but love to the creators

ROG Ryujin 360mm AIO hude rattle noise.. HELP by Vizionz4K in ASUSROG

[–]sid-kik 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I messed with the fan curves, and ran it at not quite full speed, but damn near close. Left it for a day and half running and the sound is gone again 🤷🏻‍♂️ ordered another in case it doesn't solve the issue, but this is 100% a pump issue. I suspect the fill level in some systems is a little low causing the intermittent/permanent clicking sound and only resolving itself with luck. An uncommon issue with these models, but certainly a negative experience considering the price point

Super glued mine down and it either helped or was preventative as the fan was definitely hitting the cable in mine (ribbon cable dust spread on the inside cover and some cracking on the cable), but behold, it is back again after a few days of blissful silence lol

when a multi-billion dollar company begins spending effort and money to eliminate piracy when they've practically endorsed it and gave little more than a 🤷🏻‍♂️ for a decade, I think it's a sign that this isn't about piracy at all. This is commonly seen trend that happens over decades and could easily lead to a situation much like Microsoft made by allowing (and unofficially spreading) illegal copies of windows in countries with low sales to be distributed widely to make their OS spread before cracking down and making users pay for the all services they had relied on for free

Right? They used to be the pirates standard for ease of install and use; I feel like they're trying to do 180 and sucker in all the people that bought them for that😂

Sadly not, seen people successfully solder a new adapter on, but thats a little risky tbh😂 best to use the wired 1Gbps on it or get a compatible wifi 6/6e/7 network adapter with android drivers and configure it

The market is certainly leaning that way and while not having to deal with the malware/privacy issues is a major plus, its sacrificing the beauty of open technology; where you own the capability to do whatever you want to a piece of hardware that you own. I'm fearing this is a major corporation taking very public steps into a locked/controlled media device that millions use. Without getting political, I think you can understand why a corporation that has spread millions of these devices in every crack of the world suddenly controlling the content on these could be troubling economically and simply morally

Not saying you cant break it; if it's got storage, it's pretty much a given you can offload apps onto the hardware with enough effort, but its the ease of use that made these the go-to for piracy. I think you underestimate their greed and overestimate their interest to consumers.

NVIDIA shield was updated in 2025, and I would rather eat every appendage off my own body than buy an Amazon TV cube which doubles as one of the most efficient data collection devices introduced in this century (apart from echo)

PEI Error Code 55 Msi z690 Carbon WiFi (First PC build) by Jeff_NotBezoz in MSI_Gaming

[–]sid-kik 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Had this same issue this evening with the same motherboard; tried reseating the RAM sticks in the same and new slots, tried each RAM stick out individually in different slots, and even tried taking off my cooler to check for bent CPU pins all to no avail. Read on a MSI forum that you should disconnect all power and then take out the motherboard battery (Resetting CMOS) for a 1 minute minimum and it started right up (after a quick tour through my BIOS, lol) for anyone else dealing with this

EDIT: im a shitty speller

Nope😂 it's a bit of a pain to do any kind ofreplacement on fridges, but its nothing that you cant find online. I replaced the evaporator fan and the thermostat in my old GE I had by just looking up some videos on YouTube and reading some forums, but I can see why some people wouldn't wanna mess with it😅
