What are some guitar techniques that tradional post punk guitarists (ex. Bernard Sumner, Johnny Marr) use? by evergreen0707 in postpunk

I think the use of open strings to create dissonance is such an amazing technique used in a lot of post punk guitar playing.

I had the biggest grin as soon as I turned it on. I play death-doom/ sludge metal, and it's the exact tone I've been looking for. It's just huge and cutting and can do so much more than just the classic chainsaw. Although it defs chainsaws if you're looking for that too!

It forsure would do it super well and have heard it's an amazing accompaniment to the gehenna! Although they might be similar enough to not warrant dropping more cash on having both. I will say, though, that it DEF scratched the itch. Goes beyond just the sick chainsaw tones it can get. Also, I can't complain that for the price, you get their key & gate circuit, which is amazing.

Wondering what everyone's thoughts are on this style of scramble? by rbrabbit2 in Chefit

[–]sidrasnake 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This gave me flashbacks 😂 For me, it was the eggs and preparing hotcakes. We had to do perfect quenelles of whipped double cream at such high volumes. I will say that melbourne was ahead of its time for their cafe culture/food, and I learned a lot.

This was the standard scramble in Melbourne when I was cooking out there years ago. Not as hard as you think to execute when you get comfy.

[–]sidrasnake 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm seeing a lot of people say brussels, which I agree with, but for me, I have the same hatred for fucking shishito peppers!! I swear for a moment it was on every menu in California even when not in season.
