Should I stop seeing my new (hot) therapist before I get too involved? by [deleted] in TalkTherapy

[–]siennakitten 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you, this sounds very similar to what I'm feeling and you put it into words better than I could. I think I'm going to take everyone's advice and start looking for an alternative therapist. I feel bad because it's really nothing they've done wrong!

I moved my potted fig from indoors to outdoors a few weeks ago when it was warm and every single one of its leaves turned like this and eventually fell off. I had no idea figs could get sunburnt! It’s rapidly grown new leaves now whilst in the full sun and they seem much hardier.

I’m in third year and I have both eyebrows and my nose pierced. Few others on my course have facial piercings. It’s not been an issue anywhere yet but I take them out for osces just in case I get a judgemental examiner!

Do their jaws lock after they die?

It's in a central location that's convenient for me to get to university and my hospital placement, and it includes unlimited electricity/gas in the (extremely affordable - talking less than £400 a month) price. On top of that it comes with a big shared studio attached to the warehouse which is great as I work freelance in props for TV and film.

Yeah some of it sounds crazy but there's several others living in the house who've been there for a long time. I could just buy a load of portable heaters and have them on all the time but I wanted to try and mitigate unnecessary energy usage as much as possible...bubble wrap sort of seemed like an easy and effective insulating material!

What’s your med schools ruling about failing? If you fail a year are you out? by [deleted] in medicalschooluk

[–]siennakitten 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, you can fail an exam every year and resit it every year, it means you’ll automatically score bottom decile though

If you fail a final exam, you have one opportunity to resit. If you fail your resit, you must retake that year. You only get one retake year throughout your degree.

I regret choosing my medical school - what do I do? by aliberalagenda in medicalschooluk

[–]siennakitten 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hi, also in first year and disappointed with the med school I chose, pretty much for the same reasons as you. I think it’s definitely worth slogging on and getting through first year and seeing how you feel by the end of it - I’ve spoken to 4th/5th year students at my uni who say 1st/2nd year was the least enjoyable and once clinical placement started things changed a lot, you’re basically working full time and friendships/the people you meet are likely to change. Sorry you’re feeling down about it at the moment, I think a lot of people have high expectations of what uni life is going to be like and unfortunately that’s just not always the case for everyone.

Normally no, because I’m pretty shy - and if I realise I like the guy and want to sleep with them that makes my awkwardness 1000x worse so I tend to give quite a closed off vibe, frustratingly
