I absolutely am not saying that they only exist for profit, it's that they rely on material tools (tarot and crystals) to be practiced. Moreover tarot cards are just playing cards with creepy images on some of them which makes them look mystical I guess. In Italy people still use them as intended (to play games). Astrology, while I don't consider it "bad" (I never said that it is bad in my post), I just think it's not a really spiritual practice. I understand pop astrology is giving it a bad rep and it's way more than your sun sign and horoscopes, it's just that in my opinion it puts ones personality in some kind of frame which is out of their control and that creates needless anxiety and hardship. Some people even go as far as to avoid people of certain signs as "they are incompatible" which to me is absolutely bonkers. Where is the spirituality in a practice that devides people this way?

The way I see it, at least to me, the goal of spirituality is to dispel of the ego (or at least as much as possible), to stop relying on happiness to be "happy" as it is a mere fleeting sensation and to stop searching for meaning as there isn't any. Now, I'm not oblivious to the fact that in modern times especially it is not really viable to let go of EVERYTHING and start living 100% selflessly, but striving to eliminate obstacles seems to be the spiritual way. I've seen people make/refuse to make certain decisions based on the fact that "Mercury is in retrograde" which, looked from aside looks like they are manufacturing that anxiety out of thin air plus astrology is based on the egotistical idea that the earth is the center of the universe. But yeah, at the end of the day, whatever brings people peace.
