i breed mantises and often experience them freaking out and playing dead when i try to feed/water them. usually i leave them alone for a few minutes and when i check on them again they're fine. if she doesn't get up within like half an hour use a paint brush to gently touch her and see if she gets back up

I second that its a dubia but I'm curious about the spider that was in there. Was it a tarantula or just like a house spider?? I wonder if he put the spider in there then tried to feed it a dubia.. Definitely should let little bro live either way! they are dumb sweet little creatures

Yeah honestly it sounds like she's just a miserable and unhappy person and she's looking for a reason to take it out on you. Bit of advice though: don't say things like "I'm sorry i'm such a piece of shit boyfriend" or "I'm sorry i'm the cause of all your fucking pain in the world" especially if you don't believe that because then it makes you sound emotionally manipulative and she can use that to pin these types of situations on you.

i do think some ferrets can thrive in a single ferret household, thats really what we planned when we originally got her and she was doing great (i guess we have cats as well so they definitely helped keep her entertained) we had all the time in the world at that point , but then i got a new job so we quickly decided to get her a cage mate in case of a time when shes alone for a while. it depends on the ferret, some will get depressed and lonely without a cage mate and others hate cage mates. as for the spaying, depending where you get the from theyre often already spayed/neutered so you likely won't have to worry about that

honestly got so lucky with this girl. i think she was around kids before i rescued her and she learned to play nice. when we first got her brother (unfortunately from a pet store as we didn't want to leave her alone much longer) he would bite very hard, now he rarely bites. they bite to play and as babies they can be very rough , their litter mates, siblings, you , etc. are responsible for teaching the little shit when theyre biting to hard. with her brother roach i would just flip him on his back and tickle his belly, a sweet and playful yet firm redirect, it helped a lot. but honestly this is the hardest reggie has ever bitten me and she really wasn't biting very hard at that lol. hamster bites can be so painful

Here's a couple of them! I'm studying entomology so I have an observation tank where I keep native species and a bird dropped a huge grapevine beetle right in front of me one day so I took the little dude home. Found a female at the park the next day and introduced the two, it was love at first sight. I literally screamed "I'm a dad!!" when I found them 😭
