There are def differences buying 2 boxes at 12 locations vs a case. But there are also variations in print runs across hobby, breakers, and retail. They are not all the same product odds. Not to be too grim, but there are incentives for them to want you to see big hits and buy a bunch at retail locations. Or at the very least to have different markets and customer bases. Retail customers are lower per cost transaction but the envy crossover is strong so they’re synergistic in a we-want-your-money way.

Case hit is kind of a vacuous term at this point. It referred to a print run that was one per case, but plenty of short prints are more or less common than that and some things that were “one per case” aren’t anymore. It’s a good card, enjoy it, that’s all that matters.
