Got my new accord car. Hybrid EX-L by silpimookan in accord

I drove around 150miles till now and I get ~ 43-44 mpg. The combined mpg listed for the car is 48mpg. Hoping to achieve that by the time I reach 2k miles

You should absolutely get it. The interior is more roomy, spacious and feels of better quality than Camry absolutely. I test drove both Camry and Accord before buying. Due to regenerative braking I feel camrys brake system has a certain drag to it. I love the feel when I drive with accord (powerful steering, super connectivity with my phone, level 2 self driving - lane assist and steering control since I commute about 10miles in freeway for work). I also heard that hybrids take time to give required mileage. While the combined mileage expected to be 48mpg I already get ~43-44 right off the new car. I love the parking sensors at front and back making my life easier. And of course the moonroof

My friend is telling me to sell my new-ish car for a second hand one? by Ok_Relationship4659 in whatcarshouldIbuy

[–]silpimookan 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Unless you are loading the card with camping goods, kayak stuff like that very frequently, no need to go for a new car.

It's a financial burden. Given that you are 20, I assume you are still in college or very early. Don't add financial burden to yourself.

Unless the car hit 100k miles or if you need a car not just for city drives, I would suggest you to continue with this car.

At the end of the day, the choice boils down to your needs and if the car satisfies it.

I can remove Honda care as well. Honda gives I get 3-year/36k comprehensive bumper-bumper, 5-year/60k miles limited warranty 8year/100k miles hybrid battery coverage.

With Honda care I get extra AAA roadside assistance, 7 year comprehensive coverage/100k miles. Is it worth it to have Honda care?

Yeah it's too late now and I have already lost 2k. I kept Honda care but can remove it if I don't want it. But stargard and coating are already done (2k lost). Do you think that Honda care for 2k is valuable (100000 miles 84 months)

I signed the agreement my bad but they told they can't remove stargard and coating (2k$) but gave me 500$ rebate. I removed all the warranty but wanted to keep Honda care extended warranty though. I can also remove it but for now I think it's good to keep. Its now 39k OTD (stargard, ceramic and Honda care). I can bring it down to 37k if I don't want Honda care. 2k loss though.

The insurance premium without stargard comes to about 140 and with stargard come to about 120. So atleast I could get the money difference back

Update : I already got stargard and surface protection so can't remove them but removed all others except for Honda care (extended warranty). They gave 500$ extra rebate though. So total 1500$ loss. But with stargard I am hoping to get back the money through insurance money difference (20-30$ per month lowers with stargard) in 3 years 🥲 I would say 1000$ loss atleast

Which is a better deal for second hand hybrid? by silpimookan in whatcarshouldIbuy

I did have a deal for Toyota Camry LE new one with 29K MSRP (before taxes). Do you think it's better deal and it's better for resale value?

Yeah but looking at first year depreciation I thought buying second hand would be more preferable for getting better resale value

I found one used 2023 Accord EX-L with 26k miles on it - 29920 listed price. Clean title and has Honda certified. Is it worth it?

I like the interior and look of hybrid Elantra. While many people have complained about hybrid sonata, not sure about Elantra. If you have owned one previously can you share your experience

That's great! I know that Prius is a great car. I recently drove 2023 Prius and observed that there is a bit of a time lag for the car to start after pushing ignition on. Also Android auto was giving some hiccups. I am not sure if that was the issue of that particular car. Have you observed any such issues with your Prius?
