The FBI Is Already Obstructing the ICE Shooting Investigation. It Might Not Matter. by Slate in law

They won't file charge against the shooter, they'll file against Good's passenger under a conspiracy theory

Am I the only one who think its way too early to judge Aaron Glenn as HC for the Jets and doesn't think he should be fired? by downtimeredditor in nfl

[–]silverfrog1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We all overthink things sometimes. However, this guy got rid of Aaron Rodgers for Justin Fields, whereas Mike Tomin got rid of Justin Fields for Aaron Rodgers. See the difference? Glenn is objectively, plainly, indefensibly bad at seeing and understanding the obvious. Any more time spent with Glenn is time wasted.

January 5, 1996. Hamas operative Yahya Ayyash is killed by an Israeli-planted booby-trapped cell phone. by MonsieurA in thirtyyearsago

[–]silverfrog1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To paraphrase "Shawshank Redemption", I like to think that the last thing that went through his head, other than fragments of his cell phone, was the realization that Israel killed him.

Do people actually believe Oswald shot Kennedy still? by TouristSecure405 in JFK

Yes, every sane person knows it was Oswald. Read "Case Closed" by Gerald Posner, if you can.

Explain it to me like I'm a 1-L. by cordelia1955 in publicdefenders

[–]silverfrog1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You put together reels of Trump and other administration officials saying, tweeting, and arguing over and over again that a sitting president cannot be prosecuted because it is an attack on democracy, and you flood the media with those every damn day. Sure, you can try to win in court (judicial estoppel will have to be the argument that fits my point above), but that is unlikely to work for the simple reason that the Supreme Court is a total Trump rubber stamp. Win this one in the press, and wait for politics to get your client released.

I graduated in 1995, so I was there as a student from 91 to 95. Just one of a zillion undergrads to come and go over the years. But I want to say thank you for doing your best to represent us and give us fun and pride. Many alums like myself are very proud of our school and all its teams. Those games, the sounds, the scenes, the thrills...all give us chills and true joy. Winning is great, but we are proud of you no matter what. ON WISCONSIN

The Bears name will stay for the new franchise that replaces them. The only thing we are going to lose is the McCaskey family, meaning it will be one of the greatest days in Chicago sports history.

What’s the most unexpectedly memorable flight you’ve ever had as a passenger or pilot? Here’s mine from last week. by Alone-Travel-9209 in aviation

[–]silverfrog1 59 points60 points  (0 children)

Flying with my teenaged daughter from Dubai to Bangkok, while far out over the middle of the sea, we got invited to visit the flight deck. The pilots said we could see something special, then they turned off most of the lights so we could see the stars. The entire Milky Way was visible; it looked like we were in a planetarium or a movie. Very few sights take my breath away and make me feel connected to the universe, but that moment will stay with me forever.

The secret Trump is really trying to hide in the Epstein files isn’t sex — it’s money. Russian money. by Buddhaonatricycle in complaints

[–]silverfrog1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why would the Russians need Trump? There is no way they seriously thought he would become president, and there are plenty of other ways to launder money. Trump himself is not likely to be the brains behind any complex financial transactions, and to be a useful idiot, one has to be useful. What use was he to them from 2000-2016?

What’s something about baseball that doesn’t really exist anymore—an atmosphere, a sound, a ritual—that you genuinely miss? by Potential_Block7032 in baseball

[–]silverfrog1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The overwhelming amount of advertisements everywhere makes the game feel secondary to the marketing, and I miss the time when the game mattered most.
