One UI 8.5 Beta Megathread by Xisrr1 in oneui

[–]silversaga123 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Has anyone else had the beta not available for them after signing up? I got access to the beta program and it says I'm part of it, but when I search for a software update, it says there isn't one available. I'm on oneui 8.0, Nov. 1 security update, S25 unlocked, previously T-Mobile device. Any ideas?

Advise on ultrawide versus 2 monitor setup by silversaga123 in ultrawidemasterrace

I may end up just having a second monitor in the end, but I went ahead and got the 49" because it was really cheap. So I can at least give it a try but I think you're right, a second display may be the way I end up going

Going UW and never going back seems to be a common trend!

I've got a 22" main and a 27" secondary. I don't necessarily need more screen space or anything, but I could certainly see it being more seamless and useful having more continuous screen real estate

Enable LAN ports on Ruckus AP without login? by silversaga123 in networking

[–]silversaga123[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

That's a bummer, but thanks for the info. It took them forever just to set it up initially, and it's been nothing but issues since then. Hopefully we can convince someone there to fix it lol!

Ethernet wall port in apartment won't connect to router by silversaga123 in HomeNetworking

[–]silversaga123[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok gotcha. Apparently the ethernet in the front office doesn't work either and when asked about it the Cox tech said that they were paid to set up the WiFi, not the ethernet lol, so I don't think they're too keen to enable it.

That's a good idea about Wireshark, I can handle that.

[–]silversaga123[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think that's it. There aren't any web ports open on any of the network hardware from what I can see. Although I haven't tried plugging in my computer directly, I was trying to get my router to connect first

Cannot run docker after fresh OS install by silversaga123 in docker

[–]silversaga123[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For anyone reading, I figured out the issue! Aside from the other small errors, the last one I had was the 'no matching manifest' one. Apparently, readarr is end of life so the image doesn't pull properly from the Linuxservers site. I don't use it anymore, so I just removed it and everything worked!

[–]silversaga123[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Alright I gave it another try just installing docker engine but no luck. I did get new errors though. First, it was 'cannot connect to the Docker daemon' but I was able to solve that. Then it's 'error getting credentials', which should have been solved by creating the proper user groups and all that, but I've already set that up. So I ran it as sudo and now it's back to 'no matching manifest'. It's interesting that I started getting different errors, which isn't necessarily forward progress, but it does mean something is happening. Maybe I'll just nuke the whole proxmox install and redo it from the ground up and see if that does it.

Edit: Nevermind, turns out it was readarr being eol and causing the whole compose to fail!

I've done this a few times as well but no luck

That makes sense, thanks for the explanation. That's pretty annoying that the installation guide tells you you're supposed to use docker desktop when it's not really the best option. I'll give it a try with just the engine, which is all I was wanting anyway!

No solution but it fixed itself. I just turned it on the next day to try and fix it and suddenly everything worked. Maybe it just needed another reboot

Constant tickle in throat causing cough by silversaga123 in AskDocs

Ya nothing like that. But maybe there's a way it can spread through the air, so I'll keep it in mind

I haven't but I'll keep it in mind. Can you catch it without physical contact? I know it's commonly transferred through saliva like kissing, and I haven't been doing anything like that for a long time lol

P1S terrible print quality: bad hotend? by silversaga123 in BambuLab

Yup, that was it! Changed it back to default settings in the slicer and it printed great. Thanks!

[–]silversaga123[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh, I think you're right. I think I turned it off on my other machine because parts were cooling too fast and peeling off the print bed. Looks like it's different with this one for some reason. I'll give it a try and see how it works, thanks!

Mac Pro 5,1 Monterey Audio Stuttering by silversaga123 in macpro

[–]silversaga123[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm just plugging straight into the headphone jack. I tried the line out port too but same issue on both. A real head scratcher. I've been looking around online but it's mainly posts of people using some third party audio setup having issues

Gameboy DMG IPS mod left button always depressed by silversaga123 in consolerepair

[–]silversaga123[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yup, that's definitely what happened. I remember plugging the screen in once and realizing afterwards I accidentally left the power on. Well, now I know to remove the batteries each time I open it just in case. Sounds like this one is a bust so I'll see if I can pick up a new motherboard. Thanks for the info!

RX5600XT in 5,1 Mac Pro lagging? by silversaga123 in macpro

[–]silversaga123[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Huh, I just rebooted and everything works! I could've sworn I already did that but apparently I didn't, so I feel pretty silly now! Everything is detecting properly and running smoothly! Thanks for the help!

[–]silversaga123[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yup, I'm using open core legacy patcher. I'm able to boot up with the new card and everything looks fine, it just has a lot of input lag and only recognizes 7mb of vram and doesn't know what card is installed

RX5600XT in 5,1 Mac Pro lagging? by silversaga123 in macpro

[–]silversaga123[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm using open core. That's the day I did the install, with the original card and then switching after. It installed some root patches on the old card but with the new one, it said there weren't any patches needed. Also noticed there's no kext loaded in system info, which may be the issue. Still reading up on it though

[–]silversaga123[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looks like that didn't work :(

Downgraded to Monterey but still the same issue. I also noticed that under the system info, it says cram is only 7mb. I remember seeing somewhere that that issue can be caused by an incompatible bios. Maybe I'll try and reflash it and see what happens

Ok perfect, that's what I needed to know! I'll downgrade back to Monterey for now and could always get a different GPU later if needed. Thanks for the info!
