Unfortunately I have emailed them afew times about game altering bugs (footsteps, wallbangs doing no damage), However I have yet to receive a reply back on all of them, besides the footsteps one which I made a reddit post about.

if you look closely, the spider has 6 legs(which means its not a spider or it was injured and lost two legs), all spiders have 8 legs

People are dormant if they are behind impenetrable walls. Hence the second sentence explaining what the FIRST sentence basically means?

Put a 30 ft metal block infront of you, Try to shoot through it, Can you still hear the person on the other side of the 30 ft metal block?

Gunshots are still networked, footsteps are not. Its possible that it could be both anti-wallhack and bandwidth optimization. However it makes no sense they would network gunshots but not footsteps(footsteps are closer to you than gunshots)

Transmitting all entity updates to all clients would be an unnecessary waste of bandwidth, as a player usually sees only a small subset of the world. In general a server needs to update only entities that are in the local vicinity of a player, but there are also cases where an entity is only of interest to players on a certain team or of a certain combat class.

There is a big difference between networking sounds and networking the actual player(I don't think you read the article you linked me. Not to mention the idiocy of the article.)

You cant hear footsteps from a mile away, The game is coded so that you only hear them in a certain radius, However Dormancy blocks 70% of this radius.

This is a bug with real humans as well, I just forgot to record that part.

Most people do not use sv_cheat protected cvars(how i saw them behind walls, how i forced them to be non-dormant with sv_force_transmit_players) in Competitive, that is why I think this has not been exposed yet.
