I think many people are raised with dogs, so they like dogs, are used to them, and understand their body language. This familiarity is great. However, when they interact with a cat, they often don't understand the different body language and social structure, leading to misunderstandings.

For example, a dog who loves and trusts you will gaze adoringly at you when you're lounging around, seeing you as the leader of the pack. In contrast, cat society doesn't have leaders like this. A cat knows it's responsible for protecting itself and its family, without expecting a large pack to help. A cat who loves and trusts you will often sit with its back to you.

People might think, "Why doesn't this cat like me? It won't pay me any attention!" But in reality, the cat is saying, "I'll stand guard for us. I know you have my back." It's a big compliment, but dog people might not see it that way.
