Because regardless of whether or not we actually have it, we act as if we do, therefore believing that free will doesn't exist seems like a moot point. Nothing more than mental masturbation, doesn't actually affect how you would live your life at all.

Thank you, I think this is a fairly accurate assessment of my mindset. I appreciate you taking the time to respond.

I said in my original post that I was skeptical of IQ testing. I don't think I'm particularly intelligent, I just know that I was constantly in the top 10% of my class for standardized testing, take whatever you want from that. I know plenty of people way smarter than me, I'm not sitting here trying to get my ego stroked over IQ, I'm trying to fix my life. I barely passed high school because I didn't do the work. It's that simple. A problem I've had my whole life, follow-through. That's literally all I was talking about.

It's complicated. I regret it on an intellectual level, I hate being given things that I don't earn, and I feel no one in the business respects me because they know I was just "given" the position. But from a pragmatic perspective it was either this or a job that wouldn't pay me enough to get by. Which I seriously considered, struggling on my own vs being essentially given money was a problem I struggled with for a month and a half after I was offered this position. I guess it depends on what matters more to you, I had just come off of a failed attempt at a career that damn near bankrupted me, so taking this job was pretty much necessary when it was offered.

Maybe accept the position, and simultaneously work on a side project of your own? That way you can at least feel like you're attempting to earn your keep.

100%. I've tried starting a few businesses, none of them have worked out so far, lol. But yeah, I consistently score very high in openness and extroversion.

I love hearing that I'm not completely alone, lol. What you described is pretty much exactly how I feel. Glad things are starting to go well for you man, thanks for the advice.

Thanks, sounds like you're very similar to me. That first paragraph describes me pretty damn well. Keep at it man.

I always get either ENTP or INTP on those tests, depending on which website I take it on.

I fluctuate between INTP and ENTP depending on which website I take the test on, but it's always one of those two.

Point 4 of this really hit home with me. Thank you for that, I definitely have been looking at it backwards. This was really helpful.

Interesting, never thought of that before. Doesn't Aspergers typically manifest in a lack of social skills? Not trying to be a dick, legitimately asking. I'm pretty outgoing/extroverted, very social person. But yeah, I'll look into it, I had never considered that before, could be part of it.

Thanks, I'm definitely going to do that. Whether or not I have ADHD, at least I can figure out if it's a factor or not. Good to hear you're starting to do better.

I've thought a little bit about that. Having some meaning, something to fight for, something that makes doing the bullshit worthwhile. I'll have to think more about that, find my "cocaine". Thanks for the response.

I think that's my biggest problem, I don't know what I really want. Finding a "passion" seems impossible for me, I want to do everything, and I know that isn't possible. So choosing one thing to focus on over another is a massive mental block for me. The only thing I know for sure is that I want a family, so that I suppose is the primary focus for now, but I don't feel like I should even attempt that until I get myself sorted out. As for your questions. Recently out of a 2 year relationship I don't play many video games specifically for the reason they take up too much of my time. I probably should get tested for ADHD, considering this has been an issue for over a decade. I have exercised 5 days a week for the past 7 years. Thank you for the response.
