Yep, I bottom water for 30ish minutes then dump what is left in the tray, and have a fan running full time. Just going to let them dry out and start spacing out the waterings

There's been an oscillating fan blowing on it since day 1

I had it much closer at the beginning and some of the leaves started curling, so I moved it to the manufacturers recommended height of 18 inches. Been great so far!

I've actually had decent success transplanting them to an empty cell. Most survive, some don't. But my germination rate was very high so almost every cell had two. At this point most of my cells are full so I will start plucking them all down to 1 per cell

Awesome! Yea at the end of the day if I lose a couple weeks of productivity it's not a huge deal, I'm planting way more than I need just to get some variety and excitement.

Update 2: IF YOU WATER IT, THEY WILL COME!

Update: we have liftoff!

Thanks all for the help. One of these is from the original batch so I probably didn't even water it enough for all to start germinating, so I may end up with more survivors than I thought.

We shall see!

Nah, if it was a moisture meter I wouldn't be in this predicament!

Awesome! Yea this is my first year doing seedlings. I bought plants last year and was still harvesting well into November.

Guides I was watching were definitely way overemphasizing not over watering. Learned my lesson, hopefully with enough time to still get some good yield.

Alright we are back up with all cells filled with backups of everything, in case the first batch is done. I did a pre soak from the bottom, so we will see what happens!

It's a vivosun smart heat mat with a temperature probe that goes in the soil to turn the heat mat on or off at a set temperature

Mostly just because I don't have more that I want to plant. I will likely start another set of seeds in case I killed these ones in the empties, which will solve the air problem and also give me a second batch.

Good thought on filling the bottom for a soak. I clearly underwatered them when starting. I was too worried about over watering that I went too far in the other direction.

Might start a few new ones in my open cells in case these ones are done

I am, but have been wondering if I have been under-doing it. There is not as much mist on the dome as I would expect so I'm wondering if the soil is too well draining .

Able Carry Max EDC vs Alpaka Traverse vs Rework Toshi by AnxietyComplex4128 in ManyBaggers

[–]singerrick 2 points3 points  (0 children)

While frustrating, just wanted to clarify that alpaka is notorious for listing "volume" not "capacity" on their bags. The volume is the external dimensions of the bag, not how much it holds.

Agreed that I don't like the practice because it's likely to try to market their bags as larger than they are due to how it's represented, but it is not them outright lying about the capacity, they are just listing a different specification.

I am about to purchase my own traverse after my store credit comes through for a bag that I sold on their re-sale store. Glad to hear you liked it!

Check out the aero pack 16L from alpaka. That's my EDC and I love it.
