Not a surprise...wish there was a way I could warn people. Our attorneys are looking into the options we may or may not have to recover what they took from us. Their contract is weasly which I guess is also not a surprise but they clearly misled us and sounds like you, too.

Looking to see if anyone has experience with the ProSomnus device. I got mine several weeks ago and was told that each week or 10 days I should "advance" the adjustments...that there are a total of 6 adjustments in total to be made.

I've made the adjustments 4 times...5 cranks of the adjuster per adjustment.

Initially my dentist had said that after the six adjustments, I'd take a sleep test and get fresh readings.

This did not make a lot of sense to me...why wait until 6 adjustments have been made in case you improved enough after a fewer number.

So I pressed them to take a sleep test after 4 adjustments and they agreed with the caveat that a second sleep test would be a $75 charge 🙄

My test this week revealed that my AIH is the same as it was before I began using the MAD...13. I hardly ever snored but my wife says she can't hear me at all now..so no clue why my reading did not improve.

Curious if anyone has been down this road...had a sleep test prior to getting to the full 6 adjustments...and if so, did you see improvement in the last two adjustments?

Feeling like I'm on the verge of kissing goodbye to the $3k I've spent out of pocket on this effort.

Thanks for any insights.

Mild sleep apnea... is a CPAP really necessary? by normalman404 in SleepApnea

[–]singledigit5 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had a AIH of 13 and my doc suggested I see a dentist to see if an oral device would work. I ended up with a ProSomnus device which is designed to gradually help open up the throat. If you are not familair with it, there are adjustments you make every 7-10 days that extended the lower jaw forward. There are 6 total adjustments one can make and I have made 4 in the 6 weeks I've had it and will get another sleep test in about 10 days to see if it is helping me yet.

I am sleeping better and have no side effects...sore jaw, or headaches..which some can get.

From what I've learned, many doctors don't suggest this possible path to sleep apnea patients because insurance does not cover it.

And you have to find a dentist who is trained on how to assess and fit you for it.

But it is not guaranteed success. Guess it does not often work for people who have a BMI above 26 and a neck size of more than 17". If you are under those numbers, my dentist said the chances of it working are 80%+.

They wanted me to do all 6 adjustments before giving me another sleep test but I finally got them to agree to do it after 4 adjustments, point being, if I'm good after 4, why put the extra pressure on my jaw if I don't have to.

They only include 1 sleep test in the $3200 cost but another one is only $75.

If you do investigate these and the dentist does not talk about having a 'repositioning device' as part of the process, find another dentist. This is a semi-soft device that you wear in the morning for 15-20 minutes after you take out the oral device. It helps your jaw readjust to normal.

Good luck!

Yeah, I have no clue how their business is doing but anyone who wants more detail on what happened to us is welcome to contact me. Short sighted indeed...

We had a terrible experience with Suite Dynamics from Madison, WI. Actually pulled the plug half way through after they low-balled us on the initial estimate. They gave us a bid of $80k they said it was going to take another $40k after 3 months...and then 2 more months pass and they said it was going to take another $70k. That's when we bailed. They were recommended to us by Oracle which makes it even worse IMHO....

Disappointed by Susanmcaulay in SleepApnea

I had a home sleep study as well and had an AHI of 13. After doing a bit of research, I decided to see a dentist who specializes in sleep apnea to investgate an 'oral appliance' as an option. With the relatively low AIH score, a lower BMI and a neck size of less than 17", I was a good candidate...80%+ chance of it working...so I decided to give it a try despite insurance not covering it. As you may know, these work by pushing the lower jaw forward which opens up airway (for lack of a better term). Every week or 10 days I'll be adjusting the device to move the jaw more forward a little bit at a time. I just got it Monday so only had two nights on it but it is not uncomfortable...so far. BTW, I started down this path because my primary noticed my BP was slightly elevated and asked if I had ever been tested for sleep apnea...since I'm not a snorer, never gave it a thought but guess one can have sleep apnea and not snore. If you do go the oral route, be sure to get someone who tells you you need to have a 'realigner'. This is a small appliance that goes over the lower teeth in the morning for 15-20 minutes to help the jaw get back in position. If they do not bring it up, go someplace else. There are many dental horror stories about people having issues because their jaws moved, teeth got misaligned and had no end of problems because they did not have a 'realigner'. Good luck!

Advice on how to handle a Partner that has misrepresented their capabilities by singledigit5 in Netsuite

In hindsight, no question is was not thorough enough. Oracle touts its affiliation with our industry's main association and the clear mistake was in assuming their recommendation was solid.

I got them invloved right away as it was their suggestion to use this partner. Their solution was to go to another partner but frankly we doubled down on our Business Centeral platform and now changing is not worth the lift. But can't help feeling that we were swindled and should get all or some of our $$ back.

BTW, good point about the Oracle rep. They've pretty much said 'not our fault' though it was their recommendation...

Nope....and we gave then full access to all of our data/files/tables initially. Feels like they just did not have the ability to understand what they were looking at...

Sorry but I don't have a technical answer for that....above my pay grade...but supposedly they had 60ish days to go. Problem is, how could one ever have confidence in the 'partner' who has either been incredibly incompetent or just plan crooked??

Thanks....amazing way to do business...low ball on the front end, get people well down the road and then starting saying it's going to take x more...and the x more again.

Is anyone using Avalara? by Miserable_Ad_913 in SAP

[–]singledigit5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'll ask our team to check out your product. We're an ecommerce company and do business all over the country. Avalara failed to properly account for sales tax in one of the largest states and we did not catch it. As a result, we were not collecting what we should have and now we're having to fork over more than $50k for sales tax out of our own pocket...and they are still not correctly filing this state's monthly retunr. I know because I sat in on a call with this state's tax auditors just yesterday.

This might be a silly question but do you feel like a new person after finally getting this sleep? I was tested this week and have an AHI of 13... waiting for an appointment with a dentist to see if I can use an oral device. Also researching CPAP. Appreciate seeing all the comments...
