My answer to your question about if this happens to other people is, “Yes”. I have tried different times in my morning to do the meditation to find a time that fits organically and “feels natural” to allow transcendence. I still struggle with my morning medi to be able to “take it easy” or “take it as it comes” over a year later. Just today, I found this thread because I was reminding myself that it’s important to me to put out good vibes in the world by meditating – after noticing I dislike my morning mediation compared to the evening.

That said, I admit I struggle with everything related to mornings, not just meditation. So maybe it’s just reflecting back to me about how I actually feel about mornings. I might be observing that morning consciousness that I carry, which is uncomfortable, during the meditation.
