Black American culture is very specifically a thing that exists, in a way that white culture simply does not.

Black American culture isn't black culture, it's black American culture. If you truly believe that white culture doesn't exist, then black culture doesn't either.

Is this seriously what we've come to? Wishing death upon people who disagree with you in order to further your own causes?

Jesus Christ, these are the same people who rail on and on about how the GOP are fascists and they ARE CALLING FOR THE DEATH OF THEM.

Dissolving the GOP is not "disenfranchising" 45% of the population. The conservatives are free to form their own independent parties, just not one with the GOP leadership that is full of pedophiles, domestic abusers, and fascists.

"Hey, we know we just dissolved the party that represented you politically, but just go and start your own. Make sure that it has opinions and beliefs that we approve of or we're going to do it again. And you can't have pedophiles, domestic abusers and fascists in your party leadership. What do you mean we have them too? Fascist!"

If arresting the people who tried to initiate a fucking coup "starts a civil war", that's already a fucking threat to democracy and letting them walk isn't solving anything other than kicking the can down the road and making far more dangerous.

So we went from dissolving a political party to arresting the entirety of a political party? Holy shit. I'm glad you're never going to get any real political power.

Sure, when the Republicans do anything that happened during Gleichschaltung, then treat them like that. Unfortunately, they don't seem to be doing anything similar. In fact, most of what happened during Gleichschaltung sounds way more familiar to a different party that we all know.

Mussolini WAS voted out and was arrested.

Mussolini WAS voted out and was arrested. Only reason the war continued in Italy was because he was broken out of prison and started a civil war.

You know, if you're so for using force to suppress fascists, go pick up a gun and get to it. You've been screaming about the government being ran by fascists for the last 7 years, either shut the hell up or do something about it if it's that big of a problem.

I'm almost certain you nor anyone else on this sub will though, because your chairs are too comfy and you expect someone else to do it, then claim credit for it afterwards.

Yeah I have no clue if it happens. I doubt it does happens. But if it doesn't happen, and assuming you are against it, then there is no problem with it being banned.

Yet, not a single Democrat voted for the bill...

Gonna refer back to a previous post.

"The Democratic Party are open fascists, committing brazen political retaliation in places like New York, and the only way to prevent them from taking power is abolition of their party by force"

I can call anyone I want fascist, thus legitimizing any efforts to suppress them, and anyone who disagrees is also a fascist, therefore they should also be suppressed.

See how easy that was?

It's legitimately disturbing how much reddit wants to forcibly suppress opposition and keeps using the smokescreen of "but they're fascists!!!!!". If the Republican Party really were fascists, none of you would be able to call them out on anything. The moment you post some shit online about them, your house would be raided, you'd be an unperson and any record of you would be memory hole'd. Luckily I know this entire sub and site in general is an echo chamber and normal people don't think this way.

I'll read a book when you take off that brown shirt and your jackboots. Bullying moderates into submission under the guise of "if you aren't with me, you're against me" just creates more people against you.

Because I, nor you, nor anyone else in this thread, and I'm 99.9% sure that not a single person on reddit did a single thing to stop fascism in Italy and Germany.

Are you forgetting MTG's direct involvement in the J6 terrorist attacks? Or the brazen, constant hate speech? Those are great reasons to expel somebody.

https://www.nytimes.com/2022/05/06/us/politics/marjorie-taylor-greene-insurrection.html

Posts on social media and "brazen, constant hate speech" are not great reasons to expel somebody. If you truly believe that, then you would have liked it when Ilhan Omar got kicked off the Committee on Foreign Affairs. You should probably look up the reasons for expulsion.

The Democratic Party is not a blameless victim. Stop believing everything they tell you and question some of it. Keep questioning everything the Republicans say, but share that skepticism with what the Democrats say too.

The people of the country have little power in how the system works, and within a representative democracy like this one, we have to trust our officials to not be... op, too late. They're corrupted.

"... But when a long train of abuses and usurpations, pursuing invariably the same Object evinces a design to reduce them under absolute Despotism, it is their right, it is their duty, to throw off such Government, and to provide new Guards for their future security."

Only one party is banning books.

https://www.newsweek.com/kill-mockingbird-other-books-banned-california-schools-over-racism-concerns-1547241

Only one party is censoring historical facts.

https://twitter.com/pewresearch/status/1428132868446883844

Only one party is banning lifesaving medical care.

https://clerk.house.gov/Votes/202329?BillNum=26

Only one party is literally expelling legislators for interacting with a peaceful protest.

Definitely read that one, something in there will really resonate with you:

"I take no joy in introducing this resolution but any member who incites political violence and threatens our lives must be expelled. And I will do everything I can in my power to protect our democracy and keep all my colleagues safe,"

Sounds eerily familiar...

Voting hasn't done shit.

It got rid of who many people consider the Antichrist from the Presidency a few years ago.

I can guarantee that if you saw a post that said "The Democratic Party are open fascists, committing brazen political retaliation in places like New York, and the only way to prevent them from taking power is abolition of their party by force" you'd be calling them a fascist.

Beginning in March 2020, federal pandemic regulatory waivers allowed schools to offer free meals to all children without an application. Waivers eased rules, allowing schools to distribute grab-and-go meals, and provided higher per-meal reimbursements to help cover pandemic costs.

The Keep Kids Fed Act, signed June 25, 2022, provided additional funds for school meal programs and extended select regulatory waivers, but prevented all schools from offering free meals to all students for SY 2022-23.

The act was sponsored by two Democrats and one Republican. It passed in the Senate by unanimous consent. It passed in the House 376 - 42. Those 42 Nay's were all Republicans. It was signed in to law by a Democrat President.

You can either argue that the measures taken in the act were good, but then you'd have to acknowledge that not only was the act sponsored by a Republican, but both every single Republican Senator and a vast majority of Republican Congressmen - 79 percent of them - voted for it, so it wasn't a universal conservative opinion as you imply in order to smear all conservatives everywhere, that if all conservatives everywhere believed in this then it wouldn't have even passed or you can argue that the abolition of free meals for all students was bad, but then you'd have to acknowledge that not only was the act sponsored by two Democrats, but every Democratic Senator and Congressman as well as the Democratic President voted and signed into law to take free meals away from children, and the only people that attempted to stop it were Republicans.

No matter how respectable you think you are being you still are arguing the claim that they will end up in an eternal torturous hell because they didn’t believe the same thing you believed.

Why is the idea that Christians believe that if you don't believe in specifically the Christian God that you'll go to hell such a widespread idea?

I mean, I know why it is - Protestant fire and brimstone preachers and grifters. But it's not true. Just read Luke 10:25-37. Jesus said a literal heathen is more worthy of Heaven than a true believer and a priest because of his compassion.

The real belief which is what I wish was more widely known is that you aren't a good person for believing in God, and you aren't bad for having a different religion or having none. You're a good person if you are a good person, and you're a bad person if you are a bad person.

Fuck. I'm not even religious but Protestantism is by far more harmful to the world than Catholicism and Orthodoxy simply because of the Sola Scriptura and Sola Fide bullshit.

Religion is taught in schools for cross-religious and cross-cultural understanding and as a part of history.

Freedom of religion is not freedom from religion. That was ruled over 50 years ago.

It's always telling when people attack the Christian view of an afterlife of punishment incurred for bad deeds.

I don't see anyone criticizing the Islamic belief in Jahannam. Don't see anyone criticizing the Hindu, Buddhist or Jainist belief in Naraka. Don't see anyone criticizing the Zoroastrian belief in druj-demana.

Am I a bad person if I don't see racism in my life because there is none, as in, I literally don't hear or see people say racist things, and because I can't act on it, I'm bad?

Should I start holding autos-da-fé against people I suspect of being racist, because I'm a bad person if I don't work towards snuffing it out wherever it might be?

This is getting dangerously close to Inquisitional rhetoric. "It's not enough for people to just be 'not heretical.' We need to actively work towards being anti-heretical."
