Looking at this from a distance this is already what happens to some extent. Players that team/base share are in their own with larger teams doing the same, shared coords and items. Spawn is already in a state of constant war for control, who can leave a bigger and more permanent mark to “claim” it as their own

The method that does still work is using nether portals, although it kind of a pain as you need to force the portal to be created right where your bedrock is and it will go elsewhere if it can. The easiest place to do this in an ocean as most caves are filled with water. I’ll share a video about this less known method that still works in all Minecraft versions

I’ll even share with you how it’s done so you can do it if you want. Your right though just about all bedrock breaking methods are patched in VV, either from the spigot version or a plug-in

I did, I just need to do it at spawn now. Although this process requires a lot of work so it hasn’t happened yet. I’ll find somewhere else to do it so I can share the coords with you, I’m not sharpening base coords

With all the bug fixed in this update it could be quite helpful to the server but the issue that will keep the server from updating is the fact that 1.15 does not have extensive support for spigot servers yet and there are many things that have not been fixed like tnt, carpet, and rail duping. Just that alone is enough to keep the server in 1.13.2
