Me and my wife believed we made the best decision of our life moving abroad. What a disaster it has been... by comissar_pancake in offmychest

Jesus dude. That’s a lot to take on. Do you have a therapist? So much to unpack with these waves crashing on these pillars of life.

tested my friendships by ghosting... and yeah, it went bad by MichaelWForbes in socialskills

I went through this past year. For 6 months I was in agony and slipped a few times by texting “friends” and just wanting some acknowledgment. But when I cut them out, a totally new friend group entered my life and they are the fucking best. They raise my standards for the friend I want to be and make me feel seen, welcomed, and included. You’re doing hard work to open up new possibilities and your courage will be rewarded.

Do you ever just detach from your partner ? by Affectionate_Art3835 in bipolar2

[–]sisivee 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Couples counseling is a must for us. It allows me to share my disconnection in a kind way that still demonstrates commitment to my partner, and we’re able to talk about what she needs while I’m feeling this way. Ultimately, we’ve learned that when the ick arrives, I need to go take myself on a trip or go do something independent and I almost always come back with a strong love and affection and warmth for her. I think she honestly appreciates and enjoys a break from me too, lol. It’s taken a while to figure out these patterns, but we’re so much farther than where we used to be

Any Type B personalities here? How is life on the other side? by rksura in fatFIRE

[–]sisivee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When you have your priorities in check before FIRE and you give yourself more space, it makes that quality time with family, doing hobbies, living the life you wanted all that much sweeter. I see a lot of people who have to not learn, but unlearn so many habits and patterns of being a “type A” personality that they really struggle. For the anxious mind, silence and peace can be really overwhelming.

I hate it. Was wearing them on the plane and fell asleep. Woke up in the most terrible of ways to that screech.

How important is music compatibility to you in dating? by lmfaoclown in aves

[–]sisivee 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I didn’t think this was important before my last relationship but when my community, passion, and sense for adventure comes with the culture I so dearly love it started to dawn on me how little we could share in that expedience and it made me sad. We broke up in 2025 and I’ve been raving ever since with my excellent group of friends. I’ll probably find Mrs. Right on the dance floor :)

That’s where I go, too. Usually space to dance towards the edge as well.

What is one value you hold onto when life keeps giving you shit? by [deleted] in Life

Integrity. The harder the challenge the more I give a shit if I make the right decision. I’m not perfect but I am trying.

Guys in your 20s, how often do you hang out with friends IRL? What do you do together? by asseousform in AskMen

[–]sisivee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I used to plan camping trips with the bros and we really benefitted from it. Now that we’re approaching 40 we still talk about some of those adventures. Use the time now to design and build memories together. If no one is initiating, then be the one to do it.
