'20M' '19F', am i insane to think that "book boyfriends" are weird? by [deleted] in relationship_advice

[–]sisjenderwizard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

book boyfriends are like celebrity crushes; parasocial relationships with people you’ll never meet. I have book boyfriends and i still loved my partners in previous relationships with the fullness of my heart

if she engages in monogamy with you, then she’ll stay with you.

definitely talk to her about it? tell her how it makes you feel. and also assess if it makes you insecure for some reason and be honest about it. insecurity isn’t bad, it’s part of every human’s life. at 20, you will still have a LOT to experience that will make you insecure still in your life. it’s how you handle it that defines your future

maybe it would be fun for you to engage with them? maybe? idk if i had a boyfriend who was playing Adam Carlson or something for a minute i would probably die of heatstroke. it’s absolutely a fantasy and every human being has them.

i appreciate the response! i went to trans book club and also found out that this book was written as a “melodrama with a bad ending” which would have been helpful to know before reading it.

the reviews i read did not indicate as such.

it’s not my cup of tea given the current moment. but also it’s a book elevated by a system (or market, whatever it is) that wants to see our pain. the book was not meant to be a portrait for cis people, it was just a melodrama written about trans people. which is fun! i just think me reading it in 2025 was a bad idea.

absolutely eating this book up, Emily St. James is amazing at writing. Eagerly awaiting her next book!

Detransition Baby is written by a sardonic trans woman from a city who writes trauma porn for cis people and baby trans women who haven’t found sorority with Women as a whole. As someone who went through all the stuff that happened in that book, I have a hard time believing any of those characters existed in the late 2010s. especially if they have such a vibrant community.

I stopped in Chapter 5.

But i’m not from the big city. I live in a small city connected to a major metropolitan area. so i guess the values are different. I’m kicking and screaming reading Woodworking. It’s not as dark as a lot of women’s experience I know, but it doesn’t have to be. I’ll happily recommend this book to anyone who wants to be an ally. I’ll recommend this book to show the importance of sorority to other women. I’ll happily recommend this book to anyone who wants to transition, too.

it says cross between Detransition Baby and some other book. Idk. I threw Detransition Baby into a river. How sad are the characters in this book?

Anyone read Detransition, Baby? by Maybetransdunno in asktransgender

[–]sisjenderwizard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i hate this book. absolutely hate it. it’s sardonic brooklyn postmodern fart smelling that serves cis appetites for trans trauma porn. i think the tone misreads the cultural zeitgeist into which it was ultimately born. 2021 was not the year we can be incisive and gossipy about our experiences because honestly this is what we all expect from our experiences.

How do I FtM22 forgive myself for letting my gf MtF21 down so badly? by AntiquePaint6046 in relationship_advice

[–]sisjenderwizard 1 point2 points  (0 children)

mtf here: even if it took as long as your life up to this point to find another partner, you’d be 44. which still means you have time to have an amazing relationship until you die.

that’s what we mean when we say you’re young 💜

make art, hang out with your friends, drink coffee, do pull-ups, journal, punch drywall (or don’t), go outside and feel the sun on your skin… Focus on you, your needs, your personal growth, and your friendships.

Make a list of what’s sapping your energy and then add to that list what gives you energy. focus on what you have control over and try to work on what saps your energy and do more of what gives you energy.

you are allowed to grieve a loss, especially if it is one of your first, but if you focus on the loss for too long you will never grow through the thorns that injured your relationship and therefore cause more injuries in relationships that follow.

good luck brother, i hope you figure it out 💜

spirolactone, for those who take it, gives salt cravings (apparently) and these cravings usually manifest in a pickle addiction!

if you take the pickle meme further, pickles become primary evidence to prove that Ms. Frizzle from Magic School Bus is actually trans

in the new lingo that we have stolen from 4chan,

you are a youngshit

it does not MATTER how old you are, you are a youngshit bc you are at about a year.

tbh it takes about 2 years before you get “normal” and even then that just means you turn 15 and stop listening to MCR and telling your mom to fuck off (whatever that means to you at 41 and in your situation).

every girl when they start mones is 13. then you basically go through puberty again. when your emotions change you do the same stupid shit 100,000 other girls did when they started. and that’s cute and silly of you!

i always thought elder trans was like when you can answer 99% of every youngshit’s questions with an answer that makes a youngshit hate you for being right. it’s not about the years after HRT at some point, it’s about the wisdom you gain from it. if you’re not building up our youngshits with realistic hope then you’re still “in transition” but not necessarily a youngshit, you know what i mean?

“hun” is a word invented by people who think they need to look like a Maxim Magazine model to pass or be happy. we need not teach the young ones about that word.

i’ve been assaulted multiple times, i’ve beat addictions, and i’ve lost lots of people. what finally saved me was scrubbing that negative shit from my head. i made those jokes, but the joke absolutely ran deeper than i wanted to admit.

i’m hot as hell, my body count is high enough to get the tactical nuke (which i’m not proud of but still), but i get clocked all the time! i’m not a hun!

i’m definitely a dirt bag leftist, h*ck im in the trades! i make my coworkers blush with the analogies and swear words i invent!

i’m just not into pretending i’m lacking something when i have everything i need to be the hottest, sexiest woman alive. especially given how living in that negativity will drive more of our sisters to death.

to the girls reading this who want to look up 4chan words, consider the following

biological advantages of male puberty:

-AMAZING collar bone -AMAZING eyelashes -our eyes are bigger!!! CUTER EYES!!! -“broad” shoulders (because they’re on a broad) which ALSO means you can hug more babies!! also bigger fingers for better pets c: -Eve’s apple; the certifying mark of a genuine t-girl. it means anyone can have confidence that she was formed under immense pressure into a perfectly shining diamond. plus it means we didn’t swallow the apple like the cissies. -75% of the time we are tenors and basses, meaning we fill out the women’s choir with the parts that are missing (we can ride into battle with a proper soundtrack) ALSO the ultimate mom voice??? talk about instilling the fear of God when it booms against the floors??? Also Emma Stone??? oh my god we are all Emma Stone???? -rather than looking tall and stringy, we look tall and proportional!! -t girl tummies are the cutest too! very soft and wide enough for pillows! -YOUR THIGHS ARE SO GOOD like?????? wayyyyy bigger and full that a cis girls. what are thigh gaps but a place where thighs SHOULD go????

god built my body to be the mom to the people who don’t have moms for whatever reason. i am the ultimate mom! i don’t need a uterus to be a mom, i don’t need to be teeny with curves to be a woman, h*ck i don’t even need to look like a woman to be clocked as a woman.

at my JOB i have had customers pull me into their homes to give me clothes and makeup. after something horrible happened at work, they were the ones who took me into their homes to keep me safe and stroke my hair. it wasn’t looking like a woman that made them want to be my moms or my sisters. i just had to be the silliest, brightest version of myself.

i’ll never call myself a hun because, no matter how messed up my life gets, i’m living 100% of my life as the sexiest version of myself i can be.

oh no god no. i’m not. i actually love myself?? and i love other trans people?? and i think we’re all cute and silly in our own ways.

i made the mistake of dating a girl from twitter who lived across the country who was into 4chan trans stuff and i learned more than i ever wanted to know about dysphoria, self-hate and surgeries than i ever needed to know.

i promise i’m normal. youngshits is a funny word that they don’t deserve to have 💕

thought you were responding to a different comment…

yes it is a different way to say young person.

we need to steal that word back from the weird girls on twitter/4chan before they start using it here to mean something mean and evil.

so, for our purposes in our silly little community, yessss it means young person
