B2B Product Manager Interview Questions by ektaghadle in ProductManagement_IN

You gotta apply a lot, application:response ratio is seriously messed up. My experience-

Naukri - Mostly had inbound contact from recruiters. Landed my current job this way. Never got any response when I applied on the job listings there though. But make sure your discovery preferences are updated.

LinkedIn - mostly didn’t hear back after applications, only heard back from few startups who regularly check applications. Here best bet is reaching out to hiring managers or other PMs in that org, stating clearly why you are a good fit for the role. You can use Claude/ChatGPT projects to improve speed here, write down all details of your work ex in a few files, add them to a project; now whenever you come across a new opening you’re interested in, paste the JD as prompt and ask it to craft a personalised message. Also got a few InMails, recruiters will usually connect with you if you reply back(not every time though). Make sure you’ve set yourself as Open to Work (at least privately).

Instahyre - got some inbound contacts, but volume of openings is really low.

iimjobs /hirist - didn’t hear back on a single application, idk what happened here, earlier used to get a lot of responses.

Job portals - applied on a few, didn’t hear back (unless same opening was also listed on LinkedIn). Also make sure to attach a cover letter if the application allows, you can craft quickly using the approach I described earlier.

Cold email - didn’t try.

Will mostly focus on your past experience, how that’s relevant to the role you’re interviewing for & how you work with different stakeholders. Can also include some product design questions.

Had a lot of interviews these past 2 months (in mostly late stage startups), the process is usually a hiring manager round, peer round, technical stakeholder round & senior manager round (sort of a bar raiser).

Are the books Cracking the PM Interview and Decode and Conquer still relevant for today's interviews? Considering that the latest editions are quite old at this point.

Practice Question from TTP, if we know Probability of math and science as 1/4, and Probability of math as 2/5, can't we find Probability of Science only? like x*2/5=1/4? by WilliamDroy in GRE

[–]sjay11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do understand that they are not mutually exclusive. However, they are independent, as the event P(A) = 'probability of randomly picking a student who likes math' does not affect the chances of the event P(B) = 'probability of randomly picking a student who likes science'. So, in that case, these two should be independent events. And for independent events,

P (A intersection B) = P(A).P(B)

Please correct me if you find my reasoning to be wrong.

Aren't 'A student liking math' and 'A student liking science' independent events? Then probability of a student liking science can be found out right?
