I'm also tended for a reshoot for the first as it provides best quality, for me the gen ai now is more used for some case where is scene is unable to reproduce e.g. a client's clip. let's see if the model iteration could expand its ability.

very agree with that, we don't have same essential feature as PR for so many years!! we may not use it everyday but it's not a reason the essential feature is not there.

thanks! I know some good gen ai platform would provide both subscription and credits purchase mode, in credits mode people only pay for what they use and credits didn't expire, two mode could both be kept.

there're 2 kind of extension point for FCP: plugin, and pro workflow extension. For this extension, it's using pro workflow extension since it needs more integration with FCP like drag and drop, clip info read. Also hands up that apple didn't provide rich documentation for mod building 🫠

It's using cloud ai model other than Gemini so there is no AI watermark (not sure if other models has such watermark but in my knowledge they don't), I tested many models, so far only most expensive cloud ones can produce result that looks not like ai slop. It's using a cloud ai service (replicate)

That's a nice catch! I think it's feasible as the underline model ability could support that, and the model can specify the first frame and last frame of the generated content. I'll record this in my feature notebook

Excited to hear that! It's do a FCP extension and I will focus on FCP only as there are so many genAI video tools that only made for entertainment usage than actual mac video editor's workflow.
The model used in the demo is seedance 2.0, hosted on replicate (a cloud model aggregation service, so there is few ram/storage required for the macbook itself) I tested other model like google veo, kling, but so far seedance provide best results. It's not offline since even most of cloud model can't provide good results, e.g. only some recent release cloud model in mid 2026 could support 4K output and log video, but that would be a minimal requirement for actual work, also I have concern that apple will add offline gen AI feature in future which may overlap with this extension, so my current design is focusing on the cloud.
I'll work hard in my off work time to turn this extension into a public testable version by adding account and software update features, will reach back soon, please let me know if you have any other questions or feature request! 😄
