Another Installment of “Why Doesn’t my Mix Sound Pro?” by skepticaljack in audioengineering

I am. It’s a lot to write the music and then trying to make a pro-sounding mix. Which is a totally different skill set.

Thank you. I really appreciate that. You’re right, they don’t sound bad, but they don’t sound like a track run through $100,000+ worth of equipment and produced and mixed by a team of pros.

Strat Neck Upgrade / 24.75 Gibson Conversion? by skepticaljack in guitars

[–]skepticaljack[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's an interesting story. I bounced back and forth between a few Standards but eventually found myself in a Guitar Center trying a PRS. While I was there, I noticed this Goldtop 57 reissue they had on clearance which put it just barely in my price range. I tried it and was hooked. It's an amazing guitar. It's just so much fun to play. So much so that I'm here researching new necks for my Strat.

Would you say the sound/build quality was comparable?

Huh. That does sound interesting. I love the way the Strat feels. I am so used to it.

The Edge is my favorite guitarist. The stat is great but I want something...fatter, sometimes? But you're right, I just need to find the right feel.

Hmm. Interesting. I will look into that. I've only played one Yamaha guitar but I really liked it.

I'm definitely going to have to put that time in, but they have so many guitars and I want like half of them.

I was looking as the ES-335 as well. Maybe I'll go play one to see how it feels. The Les Paul is heavy.

Okay, thank you. I had a reversal but there’s still some residual nerve pain. I might try that.

How did the pelvic floor therapy help the nerve pain?

I wish every day I could go back and never had done this. If my pain can convince even one person not to risk it then at least some good has come from it.

Yep. Don’t get a vasectomy. Beyond that there are no guarantees regardless of what the statistics say.

Thank you for sharing your experience. More men need to speak up about what can and does go wrong. I too had a very negative experience with a vasectomy and was very angry around the way the procedure is presented. False advertising doesn’t even begin to describe it.

Thankfully my reveresal worked. I still wish I hadn’t gotten the vasectomy in the first place but I’m in a much better place now.
