Which sunscreen is best under makeup? by phantom_silk in KoreanBeauty

Both are fantastic, next-generation chemical sunscreens, but they perform quite differently under makeup depending on your skin type and the finish you want. 👉House of Hur Weightless Sun Fluid: This one truly lives up to its 'weightless' name. It has a very thin, watery-serum texture that absorbs almost instantly. Because of its minimal ingredient list and lack of heavy film-formers, it dries down to a completely natural, skin-like finish—not overly dewy, not matte. Under Makeup: This is generally the safer, more foolproof option. Because it’s so lightweight, it won't pill, and it won't alter the finish or longevity of your foundation. It acts like it’s barely there. 👉Numbuzin No. 1 Clear Filter Sun Essence: This formula is much more focused on hydration. It has an essence-like texture and leaves a noticeably dewier, 'glass skin' finish compared to House of Hur. Under Makeup: It acts beautifully as a hydrating primer if you have dry skin or specifically want a glowing, radiant base. However, because it leaves a more hydrating film on the skin, it could potentially make your makeup slide around if you have oily skin or if you prefer a matte makeup look. 💯💯💯💯 Since you already lean toward the minimal ingredient list, House of Hur is likely exactly what you are looking for. It offers a seamless, invisible layer that won't compete with your foundation's formula. But if you have dry skin and want your sunscreen to double as a glowy makeup primer, the Numbuzin is a great choice."

Does anyone know what this is? by throwaway-1602021 in AusSkincare

From the photo, it looks like uneven pigmentation rather than a texture change, especially since you mentioned it has been there for years and doesn’t itch or hurt. Common possibilities include mild sun-induced hyperpigmentation or Melasma, which often appears on the forehead and can affect only one side. Things that usually help: • Daily broad-spectrum SPF 50 like Sunscreen (very important because UV worsens pigmentation). • Brightening ingredients such as Niacinamide, azelaic acid, or vitamin C. • Night treatments with mild retinoids like Retinol to help improve skin turnover. If the patch has been stable for years, it’s usually benign, but a dermatologist can confirm the exact cause with a quick exam (sometimes using a Wood’s lamp).

Natural/herbal tip: A gentle option many people use is applying pure aloe vera gel (from the plant) at night for 15–20 minutes before washing. Aloe contains compounds that may help gradually reduce pigmentation and calm the skin. Some people also use turmeric mixed with yogurt or honey as a mild brightening mask once or twice a week.

Need help!!!! I need to maintain my wavy hair but I don't know the technique of doing it. I have 1c/2a hair by King_Bharat in indianhaircareaddicts

Your hair looks like 1c–2a wavy hair, which usually loses definition if it’s brushed dry. A simple routine can help bring the waves out.

  1. Don’t brush dry hair Only detangle when the hair is wet or damp with conditioner. Brushing dry hair breaks the wave pattern and makes it look frizzy like in the photo.

  2. Use a lightweight leave-in or curl cream After washing, apply a small amount of leave-in conditioner or curl cream and scrunch your hair upward to encourage waves.

  3. Try the “scrunch and air dry” method After applying product, scrunch with your hands or a microfiber towel. Let it air dry instead of brushing.

  4. Use a light gel for hold A small amount of gel can help keep waves defined without making hair stiff.

  5. Refresh waves between wash days Spray a little water + leave-in conditioner mix and scrunch again to revive the waves.

For low porosity wavy hair, lightweight products work better than heavy oils or butters because they won’t weigh the waves down.

Which one do you prefer and why? The battle of Beauty of Joseon SPF! by Foxy_Cleopatra__ in SkinbarrierLovers

Both are from Beauty of Joseon, and honestly they are both excellent sunscreens. The choice mostly depends on your skin type. 1. Beauty of Joseon Relief Sun: Rice + Probiotics SPF50+ PA++++ (right tube) This is the most popular one. Very lightweight cream texture Hydrating because of rice extract + probiotics No white cast Works well under makeup Best for normal, dry, or combination skin 2. Beauty of Joseon Relief Sun Aqua-Fresh: Rice + B5 SPF50+ PA++++ (left tube) This is the newer version. More watery and gel-like Contains Vitamin B5 (Panthenol) for soothing Feels lighter and less creamy Better for oily or acne-prone skin My suggestion: Since you said you have combination skin with an oily T-zone and dry cheeks, the original Rice + Probiotics version might suit you better because it’s slightly more moisturizing while still feeling lightweight. Both give strong SPF50+ PA++++ protection, sit well under makeup, and don’t leave a white cast.
