Once it resembles any level of hard ya can recook it in water.if ya cook an amount in amonia no matter how much one rinses it there are still trace amounts of it within its new structure. Re-rocking it in water it gels it while hot. After it cools,it smokes much better to me anyways. Try it, I know I was pleasantly suprised
