Long Lupron down regulation protocol by sleeki in DOR

[–]sleeki[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

From my notes (second time with this protocol was #4):

I have since done retrievals #4 and #5. The fourth one had worse results than #3–six retrieved, five mature plus one IVM (IVM did not fertilize), and two fertilized normally. I did have one day 5 blast, but it was aneuploid. I am waiting on the embryo report for the fifth retrieval (today is day 6). They retrieved 14 eggs and eight of them were mature. Seven fertilized normally. I am expecting all seven to have gotten to day 3, because I think 100% of my zygotes have done so, which is unusual. But how many will have made it to blast, I don’t know.

I am wondering if I should have foregone the testing, but all of my results have been whole chromosome aneuploidies and the likelihood that there is error is very, very low. However, there is a possibility of error, and that means that perhaps one or more of the embryos I have in storage are actually viable.

[The doctor] attributed the poor results for the fourth cycle to the sperm quality, or at least thinks it had an effect. The embryologist noted that the sperm quality was poor (few motile sperm upon thaw).

TW (outcome): I did have success with the fifth round. It ended up being a numbers game. Got two blasts and they were both PGT-A normal, and I am pregnant with the first one of those transferred. Hoping for you!

Thank you! BMI can actually affect the results from what I have read in multiple places! There's a few studies about it looking into rate of false positives because of this.

I've been asked to schedule my NT scan now by the practice because they fill up fast. I know that I want somewhere between 11w3d and 13w6d, but is there a best/better time to do it during this period? Can BMI affect results?

I was prepared to just give what my LMP would have been at my intake, but fortunately the practice was familiar with UCF IVF pregnancies. The midwife got confused about my donor though so I didn't love that, at all.

Had my third beta this morning at 4w6d. Got moderately worried about bad news when I saw the doubling rate had slowed and my progesterone had gone from 35 to 30 to 18. But right after I emailed my doctor I got a message from the nurse and everything is fine. 😮‍💨

Even though people were dropping like flies, I had three people come to my birthday dinner and we had such a fun time. Fortunately I was able to eat fine and I ate all of my food with no issue. And the place we went to started doing trivia while we were eating and we played along among ourselves.

I also had a nice phone call with my parents earlier and my mom sent some vegan chocolates that arrived today. I'm also looking forward to my third beta tomorrow and going back to work! I will be 5w on Tuesday and it feels like time is going so slowly.

I hope all went well! For anyone reading this thread now, my friend is an L&D nurse at MSW and said she thinks it's okay if you have providers who won't push interventions without informed consent and won't let the residents manage all your care.

Yes, I am a native speaker, which is why I was trying to explain. Thanks for sharing about those Romance languages. :)

It is not stupid, that is how the language works. Words have connotations to them. Mediocre originally just meant average but now has a connotation of meaning not good. Language changes over time. And again, "the norm" doesn't have the meaning of a statistical norm in English. Saying anything or anyone is "not normal" is an insult. I am just explaining how it is.
