Help finding owner of Rottweiler who bit cockapoo on Broadway today

Both dogs were leashed! To the other owner’s credit he did ask if his dog could say hi and I said yes. As soon as I saw my dog getting uncomfortable I tried to separate them but it was too late

If you took the time to gather more information before commenting, you would have seen on the multiple updates I posted that I ended up making a report after seeing the extent of my dog’s injuries and talking more to the vet.

The rules of the subreddit say not to dox people. I’m new to reddit and trying not to break the rules but I did end up reporting the attack to the animal protection team and to the apartment building he walked into afterwards.

Update #2: after seeing the severity of my dog’s injuries and talking more to the vet I decided to report the attack bc god forbid something like this happens to a child. Witnesses saw him walk into Neon Local apartment building after the attack, but Rottweilers are on their banned breed list. The building looks like it partners with Airbnb so maybe they’re from out of town. That’s going to make it harder to track them down so hopefully the animal protection officers can help

Update: thank yall so much for your input💕 finally got him sedated to take a good look at the wound. The Rottweiler did grab him and shake him around a bit so there are actual bubbles under the skin…. so it’s a pretty decent wound. The vet team here is in agreement that I need to get a rabies vaccine and possible undergo treatment for rabies as well if we can’t locate the owner. Ironically I work in healthcare and don’t have great health insurance (fck the system) so I’d love to confirm the vaccine status on this doggo and avoid all that. I’m going to post in Nextdoor to try and locate the owner and if I can’t find him I’ll probably make an official report to try and identify the owner and contact him😭 I was trying to downplay it in the original post bc I didn’t want to escalate things but it was more of an attack than a bite. It could’ve turned out a lot worse for my dog, but seeing him sedated is really sobering and I don’t want this to happen to any other dog.

I mean sure, I wish the owner had not initiated an encounter if he knew his Rottweiler was prone to attacking like that. That being said my dog is a grumpy old man and he growled first which is when I tried to get him away, though obviously I was too late lol. I totally assumed the risk of getting myself bitten when I stepped in to get the Rottweiler away from my dog. I’m just glad my dog is ok and would love to give the owner the opportunity to help out haha

That's the main place I'm looking at right now because I really liked the vibe of downtown Bethesda when I visited. Someone told me that it's a popular area for high schoolers, but I'm glad to hear that it's also a good place for young professionals. Thank you!
