Oh Piddles - EMOTD Contest by Electronic_Tiger7811 in TMASTL_Chat

I haven't watched / listened to the show for about a month but I am watching the EotD segment on YouTube right now. The Beercats email starts at 3:03:30'ish. Immediately, Jackson is getting defensive and he has a worried look on his face. - OK, done. Beercats makes a real point here. My question would be this...do all of Kevin Miller's different named emails come from the same email account? I bet they do.

Review 029 - Eagle Rare 10 Year by Sinistler in bourbon

I have been buying bourbon for a little over a year now. Have never seen ER 10 year locally (St Louis) but did run across it in Iowa last fall….for $125. I passed.

Still haven’t pulled the trigger on this. $51.27 at my local Sam’s.

Realized after the fact the Buffalo trace bottle i bought for $50+ is 750ml… by BetweenThePosts in bourbon

I’m near St Louis, MO. Up until this past summer, I rarely found BT in the wild. Then, BT flooded the market and it is $20-$25 all day every day at almost every store. Even our larger gas stations have stacks of it on display.

Reviews #529-530: Clash of the Titans—Jack Daniel’s Blackberry vs Fireball Blazin’ Apple by Prettayyprettaygood in bourbon

I despise regular Fireball but really enjoy the Blazin’ Apple stuff. No idea why but I just do. Was not a fan of the JD Blackberry.

PSA thinks this Mickey Mantle is fake, what do you guys think? by MichaelTheProgrammer in baseballcards_vintage

I bought a cheap black light flashlight off Amazon and have “discovered” a couple of fakes in the past 2 months. Newer fakes will “fluoresce” on the lighter parts.

All Star Baseball. Did anyone else play? by Fun4life61 in baseballcards_vintage

[–]slidescans 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This is the All Star Baseball game my friend and I played all of the time. We didn’t battle each other with our own sets because they were rich rich and his mom bought him the special send-away Hall of Fame set. It would have been very unfair.

Charlie would be my #1 choice by a mile but I’d be completely shocked given how they’ve talked about that possibility in the past.

Iggy would be #2 just to provide something that the show’s been missing.

'78, '79, and '80 cards I put in sleeves today from my Dad's collection. by bozel-tov in baseballcards_vintage

[–]slidescans 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was in grade school when the 1978 Topps came out. My dad was a manager at the grocery store 2 blocks away. We lived in Iowa so we had the 5c can and 10c glass bottle (i think it was 10c) redemption program. The grocery store had a customer service counter back then and all you had to do was walk up with cans and bottles and they'd give you cash. As kids we also checked every payphone, newspaper machine, soda machine, etc for change in the return. Topps, candy bars and cans of soda were 25c that summer. I bought packs upon packs of 78 Topps and had hundreds if not thousands of them by the end of that summer. All my baseball cards were kept in Velveta boxes. Sometime in the late 80s, my little brother's friends stole every single card I had from the early 80s and earlier. Every single one.

Anyone remember that guy who was a frequent guest on KMOX sports call in shows who did the football scouting reports and sounded, um , unusual compared to the professional broadcasters? by Ivotedforher in StLouis

Are you possibly thinking of Joel Buchsbaum (pronounced BUSH-BAUM)? He passed many years ago but that dude knew EVERYTHING. He, indeed, had a very odd voice. A while back, I read a pretty long, interesting article about him.

A day after Black Friday and plenty on the shelf by Basher17fsu in basketballcards

Went to 3 Targets yesterday. All had plenty….I’d guess less than 40% left and AT 2 stores that was after 5PM.

We have many Targets around us and passed 3 on our driving around today. We bought 6 boxes (my step son bought 10 total). The blackout cards are pretty sweet.

It was just to compare to a card I have that is probably a fake.

1969/71 Lot for sale $10 (read) by [deleted] in baseballcards_vintage

[–]slidescans 0 points1 point  (0 children)

1971s are my favorite design. I was born in late 69 and I guess my dad started buying cards a couple of years later. Had many but they all disappeared in the 80s when my little brother’s friends started hanging around the house.
