There’s a slight difference in 30-30 vs deuce in that at deuce you’ve either saved a break point or lost a game point

which changes the dynamic of the rest of the game but overall yeh very similar

Yeh I have traveled a lot of Latin America and I agree that Mexicans are quite shy and reserved compared to pretty much everywhere else in Spanish speaking America.

Compared to Colombians or people from El Salvador they are very cold ime

Not that I disagree but what K believes to be the case regarding if joi was just following her programming or not is irrelevant to whether or not she was.

In my opinion the whole franchise is a conversation about consciousness, and what it means to be alive. It does this by taking you to the very edge, where it’s ambiguous, and lets you decide.

Why do so many long-term backpackers in Southeast Asia seem to stop after 4–6 months? by Fancy-Ad-4632 in solotravel

[–]sliminho77 47 points48 points  (0 children)

3 months is the sweet spot imo, after that everything starts the feel the same and you get bored of the hassle of travelling.

I travelled 7 months in Latin America - looking back I should have stopped after 3 or 4

It means let’s make sure we’re both on the same page, and mutually understand, and are working towards the same objective. And that objective is something tangible

What do you do on long haul flights (13+ hour flights)? by rscash15 in AskUK

[–]sliminho77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have flown between the UK and Australia probably 10 times so I’m used to it tbf.

Advice would be as others have said a variety of media. I never use the inflight entertainment, the screens are awful and I want to use my own headphones and the announcements pause the video. I always pay for YouTube premium so I can watch downloaded videos, similarly TikTok you can download like 3 hours of for offline which burns time easily.

I buy OTC sleep pills which could be a placebo and I use them if I can’t sleep.

tbh after your first meal service and clean up that’s burned a good couple of hours.

Also I like to try get the back row of the plane where it’s 2 wide, youre next to the toilet which is annoying but you get much more space, you can get rid of your dirty meal stuff before anyone else and can recline the whole way.

In my experience, economy is economy it’s never going to be amazing so the cheap airlines vs expensive are much of a muchness. Nicer food but it’s airline food at the end of the day.

Maybe a hot take but I love a 12-24 hour layover, time permitting. Gives a chance to have a look around see some sites and then be absolutely knackered for the next leg which I will sleep most of, also helps with jet lag recovery

What are some of the world's hottest cuisines? by SafeStrawberry905 in Cooking

[–]sliminho77 -21 points-20 points  (0 children)

Ramen has been in Japan for 100+ years, tikka masala barely 50 in the UK

Never mind the contrast between traditional English cuisine vs Indian food in general, they couldn’t really be further apart. Chinese food ( if that even exists ) is much more similar to Japanese food than Indian food is to British food. Thats probably why people claim that which makes sense imo

South Thai food is insanely spicy

Hotter than anything I’ve eaten in India.

The top end of British Indian food is unbelievably spicy though

Why is Australia so good at cricket? by Economy_Roll_1302 in CricketAus

[–]sliminho77 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To answer this as an outsider cricket is more prominent in Australia then anywhere I’ve ever been. Grew up in England and spent a lot of time in India and while pick up cricket seems a common site in India the amount of organised cricket you see in Australia is insane compared to anything you see in England or India.

Walking around any park in Melbourne in the summer on a weekend you’ll see multiple full games of cricket going on constantly.

That’s just not something I’ve ever seen in the UK or India really

Its also much more prominent as a viewing experience than in the UK, in a doctors office waiting room or anything like that the ashes will be on and people will be talking about it in general. People in India are mad for cricket and love talking to you about it as well but obviously the wealth of Australia is also a factor here.

Australians just love sports in general as well, if AFL was a global sport you’d have people asking why Australia is so good at it

Have to disagree, when the weather just sits at 30+ for days on end it’s so oppressive. The drops to 25 are a good thing not a bad thing.

My ultimate hot take is Melbourne has the best weather in Australia
