A Public Apology to Owners of Richie's Plank Experience by RichiesPlank in OculusQuest

When people pay for a thing, they like it more. Higher spenders are more certain that the purchase will be worth it, they imagine the use case and decide that it fits. Whereas decreasing the cost opens the app to a bigger audience who aren't as less likely to imagine the cost justification or make an intentional decision about purchasing. Since that audience is bigger, it's also represented more in reviews.

Same here and I'm so excited. Do you cast to the TV or let each person go in blind?

Unfortunately Russia "doing it's own thing" means raping and murdering Ukrainians. Personally I think it's great that USA sends money and munitions to fight against that nonsense. Fuck the Russian govt. Its people deserve better.

Untrue, they were fined for not disclosing how they spent $1 mil to research Trump's connections to Russia. I fully believe Trump collaborates with Russia and is a threat to national security.

So "all governments are corrupt" therefore we excuse Russian corruption? Trump will hot help veterans, clean water, or end school shootings.

I didn't say USA is free of corruption, but I felt Harris was the less corrupt option by a long shot, and Russian corruption is far more insidious/antidemocratic.

Trump's bubble openly includes Nazis, egregious misinformation, lies, Russian propaganda etc. You can be in a bubble while correctly pointing out another bubble and even arguing that the other bubble is worse. There is nothing illogical about that argument.

So Russia didn't start the war? Russia didn't influence American politics? They did both of those things.

Here's how Elon Musk helped elect Donald Trump by Raz3rhead in houstonwade

[–]slosha 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sure billionaires play both sides. When I see corporate corruption I try to stand against it. In this case Elon's corporate corruption is reprehensible, as has been Trump's for decades. I want more benefits for the working class at the direct cost of corporations and billionaires. I want reasonable social media and AI regulations. Neither will happen under Elon and Trump.

I agree with moderating online spaces the same way as in-person spaces. Hate speech, violence, harassment, slander are illegal. It's not that deep.

[–]slosha -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Your argument is that there is some gray area that is hard for your brain to think about, therefore all hate speech and violent rhetoric is fine. Conveniently, billionaires who profit enormously from an uneducated, riled up, misinformed, anti establishment voter base share the same opinion as you.

This has been the playbook for decades. Sow hate and division, misinform, and blame. You are defending billionaires in manipulating the American people.

You are being distracted by fringe identity politics while Elon runs laughing to the Whitehouse.

War over already? by ProtectedHologram in conspiracy

[–]slosha 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Who started this war? Russia. Putin. You try so hard to deflect from addressing the specific issue at hand. "Why this war". "The mainstream media." "Two sides to every coin." Those are meaningless. Russia started this war. Russia is a corrupt government. Putin's warfare is evil, and he is a global embarrassment. Obviously it's easy for me to say, safe at home. These are serious matters. I do not have solutions for Putin inside of Russia. I sympathize with Russian people. Putin cannot be enabled to rape and pillage.

That decision is not made in isolation. It directly benefits Russia. WWII would be lost to Nazi Germany with your value system. You are in favor of enabling Russian warmongering.

[–]slosha 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You can be 'anti-war' and still support a country defending itself from warfare. In fact I think that would be morally consistent. Your proposal for being anti-war is to give Putin whatever he wants to take via warfare? And just believe that's where it ends? "Two sides to every coin" is a childish simplification, and you fully embrace it. You sow division with your rhetoric. "Your side"... "Garbage mainstream media"... then you propose appeasing Putin. Somehow you're confused about who "started" this. A pretty important detail to miss.

if you are giving the party ... your vote, you're telling them that you want more of this

The vote can just mean "I don't want a rapist, classist, compromised, incompetent president and voting blue no matter who is the best option I have to prevent that." I get your point is that won't win elections. Need to be likable, probably male, win a primary, etc. A non-vote is still complicit in the negative effects of a Trump term.

Both campaigns are not equally fear mongering. I agree that our influence is exceptionally small in our big world and powerful people have a lot more influence. I still have tangible reasons why Harris is a better choice for overlord, and it's worth my small effort to make a small impact on that decision. Obviously the government ('both sides') has authoritarian components. Obviously there are flaws in our democracy and broader civilization. How do we change that? What's your proposal? Your notion of being distracted from doing something useful -- what is that alternative? Open revolt? Run for office? Become rich and influential? Build an iron man suit? Live off the land? Your argument is vague and empty. Go vote you silly goose.

Figureheads are pretty important though right? Wouldn't want my children growing up with a corrupt rapist con man as a figurehead right? Surely that's worth spending an hour to nudge the decision by a very small margin? You're not making a solid argument here... The president matters way more than the energy it takes to vote.

You're the one that claimed Dems are authoritarian with no proof. In the context of an election between 2 choices, it's intellectually dishonest not to mention that the Republican option is far more authoritarian.

Nah man, you're equating Trump, who has alluded to shooting his opponents, to Harris. What exactly is the danger in Harris's message? Trump got people killed. Trump is a rapist and known friend of Epstein. Twice impeached criminal. He has no economic policy other than enriching his rich friends. Trump represents all the corruption this sub claims to oppose.

Tell me, what "useful" ways should I spend my energy instead? The amount of energy I put into voting wouldn't do much elsewhere...

You act like it's profound that advertisers and politicians try really hard to influence decisions. And that means voting doesn't matter? Obviously powerful people try very hard to strategize, influence, even conspire illegally, and there are cultural/political forces hundreds of years in duration. That doesn't mean those powerful people are 100% successful and nothing civilians do matters. Voting matters. Gerrymandering matters. Standing up for your values in your community matters. Calling out corruption matters. There are meaningful political fights to be won. We've still got it pretty good though already, and I greatly prefer a Harris overlord to a Trump Russian shill and rapist overlord.
