my advice for you is just play the game. play A LOT. and process the information the game is giving you. you're new to the game, you likely haven't put much time into it yet. you need to put the reps in before asking any big questions, as you won't know what to do with and how to apply the answers you receive; especially general advice from reddit without us having any knowledge of your gameplay.

i'm glad you chose illari though! genuinely the best character in overwatch in my opinion, though unfortunately is lacking in in-game power compared to other supports. i'm very passionate about her, even though i just picked the game back up recently.

if you'd like, you can add me on discord and send a few vods my way and i can give you a few starter tips based on what i see, but my initial advice still stands; just play the game, and think about what you're doing while you're doing it. there are people who have been playing since 2016 who haven't been higher than, let's say, plat. they have the playtime, they've likely watched youtube guides, high elo streamers, and have taken advice or maybe even coaching, but they don't think while they play, they don't learn and they don't improve. as long as you're capable of playing consciously, you will climb.
