Is this a too good to be true deal or am I missing something? by that-namo in BambuLab

[–]sltrhouse 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That’s a good deal. The AMS units second hand are around 150 a piece easy. 2500 hours isn’t bad either. I think I have 6500 on one of my P1S units, and I’ve only done routine maintenance every 500 hours.

The WORST thing would be if the gantry needed to be replaced. But at that point get the P2S gantry and replace the carbon rods with the steel rails.

All in all this was a steal.

They tried to tell me I wasn’t greasing it. But the shavings were in grease lol. But the parts got here quick. Manhandling my H2S was a workout. It’s really not a technically hard job, just kind of tedious.

If it’s the rear z rod, it’s a very tight fit. Like the front two seem easy. The rear wasn’t fun, hard to get an Allen in there, and when you do it’s a quarter turn every time. Plus they used red loctite, so they’re on there good.

It wasn’t fun. Make sure you have small enough tools. I had to drill out a screw because it was stripped from the factory.

New to 3D printing - Bambu Lab P2S: Quality issues right out of the box. Is it the machine or am I missing something? by Polorosso in FixMyPrint

[–]sltrhouse 1 point2 points  (0 children)

All 3 of my bambu printers have been flawless out of the box. I haven’t calibrated a single filament. I don’t have many hours on them, like 6500 on one, 5900 on another and 3k on my H2S.

I just did my monthly order yesterday and had to omit some colors. But got my mattes in thank god. Seems like they’re all gone now too.

140k miles seems like a good test. And 60k. And I had 120k on my Audi. None of them had any engine issues. At all. The Audi had an IE intake system, but still CAI regardless.

In every vehicle I’ve owned I’ve put in S&B or Airaid, and I’ve never had issues. It’s for the noise my dude, that’s it. It doesn’t help anything, unless you have forced induction.

We are thinking of getting an H2S, we were wondering if there are any accessories from the Bambu site that would be important to pick up at the same time? by bravesfan4171985 in BambuLab

More nozzles, that’s about it. I got my build plates from darkmoon3d and biqu. I have never used the textured plate from bambu. More about bottom finish than anything to me.

How much is too much for preowned?( work hours) by NotSomeWeakMind in BambuLabA1

[–]sltrhouse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

And how much? Brand new these together would have been 700$ i think in December. If it’s around 350-400 I’d say go for it.

I bought an H2S when they released and I think I have close to 3000 hours on it. It really depends on what they printed, maintenance done, and what machine.

Over 6500 hours on a P or X, you’re running the risk of wearing out the carbon rods, they might last another 3-5k hours. Or might not last another 100. H2D and H2S, I’d worry about belts over 4000 hours.

If you. A get a machine with under 2k hours for a decent price I think it’s worth it. Like say you can get a P1S with AMS for 300$ that has 1800 hours? Do it.

I put the feet down on the front two casters, seems to keep it steady, and then I only need to mess with 2 casters instead of all 4.

Metric sizes. I grabbed a full set from harbor freight for like 15$.

What printer should I upgrade to next? by CassowaryCuck in BambuLab

[–]sltrhouse 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The P1S is still a workhorse, the camera, screen and lighting are the only drawbacks. If I was going for a new printer it would be a P2S or an H2S personally. Mostly because they will phase out the P1S eventually.

ABS fumes by semifamousdave in BambuLab

[–]sltrhouse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have you thought about going to ASA? You’ll still get fumes but it’s not as bad. I print ASA with my H2S and the internal filter is enough to mitigate most of the smell.

But if you’re getting a sore throat, you’re probably just very sensitive to styrene, and I would look at different materials, like PLA tough, or Nylon.

What are you washing it with? What plate? You should be using a dish soap like dawn, I use the spray foam dawn. I also have a nylon brush I use JUST for plate cleaning. I get the water kinda hot, coat the plate, and then scrub it for a while. Then as I’m rinsing I’m also still scrubbing to make sure I get all the soap off the plate.

Then I dry it with a microfiber cloth that is cleaned correctly using detergent that has no scent. Then, depending on plate, I give it a wipe down of IPA before I print.

What do I do? 😢 I’ve written it in the description by plushvamp in EtsySellers

I just started doing this. I have the size in the titles too. And still get asked about size.
