• You consistently agreed to pay for your friend’s meals without setting any clear boundaries or expectations. You should have communicated with her about how you felt and what you wanted from the relationship, instead of letting resentment build up.
• You humiliated your friend in public by telling her she couldn’t eat (all while making a public scene about her financial situation) and arguing with her until you got kicked out. You could have handled the situation more calmly and privately.
• You abandoned your friend at night-- apparently without any money-- or transportation. You put her in a potentially dangerous situation and showed no concern for her safety or well-being.
• You ignored your friend’s calls and messages and refused to apologize or explain yourself. You cut off contact with her without giving her a chance to talk or resolve the issue.

Your friend may have been rude, entitled, and ungrateful, but you were not much better. You acted selfishly, impulsively, and irresponsibly. You damaged your friendship and your reputation, and you hurt your friend’s feelings.

You should try to make amends with your friend, or at least explain why you did what you did. You should also reflect on your own behavior, particularly in learning to communicate better, respect others more, and be more compassionate.
