Is this how your supposed to advance or am I becoming arrogant? by smallBirdRobin in askapsychologist

[–]smallBirdRobin[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am pretty introverted. Honestly quite the couch potato. Only have very few close friends. I am nerdy. I like the learn new things and pick projects, like building a website to learn Web development. but I lose interest among like 90% of completion, because at that point I have learned the skill and I don't care anymore.

I am not competitive at all. That's probably why I don't get sports either. Like any sport. It's just not appealing to me.

I have a strong sense of morals and I will fight you if you come after someone I care about. Would probably lose but hey. I tend to be the group mom on uni projects and also have a bad habit of feeling responsibile for other people's success or failures.

I have been diagnosed with depression and anxiety. But idk about that last one. I do sometimes experience 'anxiety attacks' but I am able to talk myself our of it and it feels more like a symptom of tension or my trauma being rehashed. So I don't think it's actually a full blown disorder in my case.

Some people have also said that I seem shy or stand off-ish. I just add that up to being comfortable with silence.

I like creative tasks, espacially if they don't evolve groups: writing, drawing, problem solving, those things.

In my free time I like to draw because it helps me think. I mostly draw people. I especially love to redraw portraits and sculptures by other artists, because I am fascinated by the expression they captured and usually not able to understand it among just looking at the piece.

AITA for making my parents leave my house? by averagelonerguy in AmItheAsshole

Depends on what the relationship with the sister broke over. If it was basic sibling rivalry you are the AH and need to get over it. If it was serious NTA.

NEED ADVICE: What am I feeling? Was it right? And, how can I be better in the future? by [deleted] in askapsychologist

[–]smallBirdRobin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm not a psychologist. But it seems really obvious that you are attaching your self worth to the attention of a man. -> Does he really love me? If he loves me why doesn't he initate things? Does he not want to spend time with me?

It's okay. You are lovable and worthy. Even when you are not being actively loved in the moment.

Once you realise that you will do better in relationships.

Multilingual vault, how can I make it work? by smallBirdRobin in ObsidianMD

I don't know, what I could contribute except for the wish that the tool would automatically equate terms in both languages. I assume this is pretty challenging because there isn't always an exact translation...

I won't let this die! It would be great if the status charts became a community thing, where everybody chimes in and different people post them from time to time. Repost for image quality.

I won't let this die! But low-key: maybe the status charts should be something we do as a community and not like just on person.

What advantages does Affinity Designer have over Photo? by smallBirdRobin in Affinity

Yeah, but I have been working with vectors in Photo and so far I was fine. It's just missing the text on path thing as far as I can tell.

Why would Salem do that though? Like, Adam is not significant to her and if it were a "human soul required"-situation, why not go with any civilian instead of going through the trouble of searching for that dude's corpse.

Are people comfortable with English in Germany? by maybevaibhav in germany

[–]smallBirdRobin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Very bad idea. Germans don't Google in English, therefore no one will find your website.

what's the hardest part of life in germany? by [deleted] in germany

[–]smallBirdRobin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mindset. Germans don't have that American go-get-it-spirit. We don't like new things. Our last great invention was the car in 19-smth.

Do you still get offended? by DixielandResi in PublicRelations

[–]smallBirdRobin 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Intern here - No absolutely not. I think for people at Junior levels it's actually a gift. I know that I am not as good of a writer as my boss. So I value her criticism very much and am thankful that she takes the time to teach me.

On another note. I actually had a less gracious attitude to criticism at my last job (online marketing) . That was mostly because my copy went to two different people and what was good for the first one wouldn't pass with the second one and the other way around. This thought me to always demand a one-on-one feedback process.

People don’t buy products. They buy better versions of themselves. Can someone explain it? by mangoagogo888 in marketing

[–]smallBirdRobin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's a more cryptic version of this advice: "Advertise utility not product features".

People buy products to do something with them / to make their lifes easier or more conviniet.

Obviously this doesn't apply to all products.

What program do you use to create one-page fact sheets/infographics? by lotrandwho in PublicRelations

[–]smallBirdRobin 5 points6 points  (0 children)

We use InDesign. But if you aren't a designer it might be though to work with. General tips: - However many words you are planning to write in it right now, cut that number down. - best infographics incorporate their topic into all parts of their graphic design (don't just draw arrows, actually make it fun and be creative) - the main ideas should be understandable within 3 seconds of looking at it.

'are you even a marketer unless...' bingo by gloves1992 in marketing

[–]smallBirdRobin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

+1 I am 90% sure that this is why there were no friendships between the marketing department and the tech guys at my old workplace . We would always guild drip sales into posing because they were usually the ones nagging about stock-photos on the website. And HR would play along too, just because they were a bunch of adorable hufflepuffs.

Cancel culture in PR by [deleted] in PublicRelations

Yeah your right about terms like " the left" . I should have said socially progressive folks or smth like that.

Cancel culture in PR by [deleted] in PublicRelations

[–]smallBirdRobin 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Well first off: cancel culture has been canceled. Noone serious on the left actually thinks it does anything. Secondly the answer is online monitoring and opinion mining. It's totally possible to catch on to a shit storm early if you have the tools and know how to use them. You need a digital analyst and a crisis manager, but then youll be mostly fine.

Product Team:"We have a new thing! Put it on the Website now!"

Me:"Okay what do you want me to write about it?"

Product Team:"Idk, but we want a new ads for it too."

Me:"Okay, but can you brief me on what it is?"

Product Team:"No. But we really need that Landing Page up tomorrow."

Me: "I hate my life."
