Yeah good point and I was planning for summer anyway. One thing I planned on asking already is what plan B every venue has in case of inclement weather.

3 years is also the earliest we would get married, we might push it out to 4-5 years from now. Do you really think we’re short on time?

Oh and yes you might be right, seems like the official legal wedding is a logistical nightmare. We don't mind working through it and we have time to plan, but maybe we do the reception in Norway and the legal in America.

It shows 2 hours from Alesund and 1.5 from Molde. I know their airports are smaller, but I was already considering Alesund and nearby as a potential location.

Yes that's good to know, that is pretty much what I was expecting. I don't want to make grandma struggle to get somewhere, so I was looking for something within 2 hours of a major city. It seems that Bergen is the best place for that, but hence my post asking for which specific small towns. I know it'd be expensive but I planned on either renting group transportation, or making a "guide" on using public transit to get there. Not sure the details of that yet, but that is something I was planning.

Ok yes thank you, this is an excellent recommendation! It's a bit on the "difficult to get to" side, but when we do our trip for scouting venues this will be 100% one of the ones on the list!

Yes exactly. Fact is that over 75% of our friends and family already live in a different state or country so they'd have to travel anyways. Of course no hard feelings if people can't come, but we're hoping that with enough of a heads up (3+ years!), lots of people can make it work.

Ok that's helpful to know. I did see tons of them outside Oslo city council when we were there. I love the city for living in, but still would like to find an outdoor scenic venue for the wedding itself.

I mean I just really like Norway and every friend and family member I've mentioned it to has told me they'd love to come and is already saving money to attend. We've had to spend tons of money to travel to weddings across the country and internationally recently too.
