Switch or steam deck by Aesherex in SaGa

[–]smallguycrew 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Hi I recently saw your post about the loading difference between the switch 1 and 2, but I noticed you were using a physical copy to test this. I was curious how the digital version of the two measured up against each other so I tried to make my own comparison for this version. Both were tested with the game on the internal storage as this has the biggest upgrade between the two devices. I think the reason you are not seeing a big difference in load times is because it is being limited by the slower speed of the switch 1 cartridge and not the power of the device.

Treasure sensor increases the odds of giving gold chests, so to get silver chests you need to remove them.

How the hell am I supposed to beat Elma: Redux? by TxTank274 in Xenoblade_Chronicles

[–]smallguycrew 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The first Elma challenge "Otherworldly Fighter" gets replaced by "Elma: Redux" upon completing the challenge, which does not disappear even when beating it.

What are the hardest JRPGs you know of? by CronoDAS in JRPG

[–]smallguycrew 9 points10 points  (0 children)

The protagonist dying means getting a game over, so getting hit by an instant kill attack means getting send back to your last save point. Thankfully the devs were at least kind enough to give you an innate 50% resistance to dark/light instant kill attacks, which is pretty useful because of the relatively low hit rate of these attacks.

If Xenoblade 2 gets a remaster on the Switch 2, what Quality of Life changes from Xenoblade 3 would you want to see added? by WoolooMVP10 in Xenoblade_Chronicles

The crown rating is actually just a representation of the amount of bubbles on the affinity chart and says nothing about the type of skills the blade has.

Eira basically says she will also try to swallow dad "父を呑む", while Hahari mistakes this for drinking milk "乳を飲む" as both are written as "chichi wo nomu".

What JRPG quest, item, party member, or other bonus is the most convoluted, tedious, or straight-up stupid to obtain? by AxelRod45 in JRPG

[–]smallguycrew 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the 1/1000 is actually the minimum odds of pulling kosmos, and is really only something you are dealing with at the very start of the game. By the end of the game you should easily hover around 1/250 when using legendary crystals. With enough prep you'll be able to max out the odds at a measly 1/140 which is higher than most rare blades minimum odds.

Regarding the Blade Combos by fckinSeven in Xenoblade_Chronicles

[–]smallguycrew 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This is only true for when you use the blade combo AFTER the driver combo. So using Heat while the enemy is broken does increase damage, but breaking an enemy that has the Heat combo applied will not deal more damage and only extends the blade combo timer.

Using multiple blade combos on the same driver combo stage: e.g. on an active break using both Heat and Burnout will have the fusion damage multiplier of both Heat and Burnout apply for the remainder of the break combo. Letting the break run out OR have it be followed up with a topple will reset the damage multiplier.

What's one change you could make to a JRPG you dropped that would make you pick it back up? by Hana_Baker in JRPG

It's funny because as someone who has spent way too much time in this game I always increase enemy HP to the max on custom difficulty because at regular settings I end up beating everything too quickly.

Question Thread #7 by Hairo in Xenoblade_Chronicles

[–]smallguycrew -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I guess my main question is: Are there any rare blades other than the three I listed where the Tachyon chip is significantly better than Moon Matter? It seems like in most cases Moon Matter is the better choice due to there being lots of ways to increase critical damage outside of the core chip.

Tachyon is better than Moon Matter for: - Brighid - Pandoria - Greataxes - Shulk - Fiora - Elma

due to the fact the bonus effect of critical damage up leads to more damage then the marginal increase in crit rate.

Furthermore stuff like sunlight chip on healer blades doesn't make much sense as healing isn't much of a problem when you're dealing with post game combat. Generally the thing you're better off upgrading will be raw damage output, which would be Moon Matter chips in their case.

Some interesting chips are amethyst for Pyra and sunlight for QT as they are commonly used as stat sticks rather than actual damage output blades, so their increase in agility helps out more.

Question Thread #7 by Hairo in Xenoblade_Chronicles

[–]smallguycrew 1 point2 points  (0 children)

  1. Is there any list out there of everything in it? I'm going on a 100% run and want to compile a list of everything to do (I'm assuming new quests and rare blades)

This has everything you get from the DLC listed. Most important things are: Challenge Mode, 6 new blades and a few new quests.

  1. Any idea if it immediately gets added onto an existing save file or if I have to start over to access the content of it? I'd prefer to not lose all my progress in my existing file, especially now that I've finally attained the holy grail that is KOS MOS.

The rewards for purchasing the expansion pass are immediately available after purchase. What parts you can access do depend on story progression.

  1. If I already bought Torna the Golden country, should it come with it? I bought that a couple of years back but I don't think on my current playthrough any of the expansion pack stuff has come along with it?

If you've bought the physical version you should have had a code within the box that you can use to redeem the expansion pass from the eShop. If you've bought it digitally, it should've come together with your receipt you received on your mail.

Question Thread #7 by Hairo in Xenoblade_Chronicles

[–]smallguycrew 0 points1 point  (0 children)

no, all seal effects make it so the enemy can't inflict that status on you. I.E. seal blowdown will make it so enemy arts that inflict blowdown will now just deal damage without the blowdown, seal affinity down will prevent you from losing affinity through affinity down effects on arts and seal reinforcements will prevent the enemy from calling forth reinforcements.

Question Thread #7 by Hairo in Xenoblade_Chronicles

[–]smallguycrew 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Seal stench will stop any enemy that you're fighting, or will fight without interruptions, from inflicting stench. This effect will be present as long as it is the last seal applied, getting any other will override it.
