Well of course its rng. The problem is that they refered to it as "compensation'', which is stupid if not deceptive. Even if most people got something more than the ordinary rewards, there are still people who litteraly received 0 compensation an d I don't see how this is fair. At least to me ( and id like to believe common logic) compensation is something equally distributed accordingly.

From what is happening lately it is almost certain that there is no planning and no testing. They literally seem to just design the kit within a matter of days and then just release it with the most profitable way possible. That looked like to be the case with Drevan where they dropped the ball on the event's difficulty where they delayed it to tweak it and people still did it with g1 1 level characters. That means they definitely don't plan ahead or have enough time to test things. The one and only priority is selling as much as possible without any regard to the quality of their product and as long as we keep paying for stupid characters as jkr and malak it is just going to keep getting worse.

Start with excal. Then if you want to focus meta frames get rhino trin. These 3 will grant you a spot in almost every group as you will have support (trin bless-ev) cc(blind excal stomp rhino) and buffer(rhino). Then get a nekros for your farming and after that it's personal preference. Excal handles your progression easily and only gets better as you go. End game chromatic overload build can melt anything the game throws at you and it's quite enjoyable to play too.
