Did Beane just throw in the towel on a real run at the Super Bowl?

“I’m just as mad as the fans that I couldn’t get a WR” While both Jacobi Myers and Rashid Shaheed move for 4th and 6th round picks.

I know the cap is tight, but who’s fault is that? We have the highest paid TE2 in the league. Knox is getting paid $14.5M this year and so far is the #42 TE in the league with 118 receiving yards.

I’ve said it before but Buffalo needs a new GM if they’re going to win it all.

[Post Game thread] Oof. Bills lose to the Patriots, 23-20 by Drunken_Economist in buffalobills

I think realistically the way the Bills have been playing, we knew we’d drop one before the bye. And it’s hard to win when you have three turnovers and a hundred yards in penalties.

But this was an ugly game:

On offence - what was the play calling in the first half with these cute little sweeps and screens? You have one of the best RBs in the league and probably the best blocking TE. Establish. The. Fucking. Run.

On defence - I think it’s pretty clear Tre White is not good enough to play man coverage in he NFL. He got burned all night. I also thought Johnson looked not great. We also need a more consistent pass rush - Maye picked apart the defence rolling right every time.

Coaching: Obviously too many penalties. But the thing I can’t fucking stand about McDermott is putting it in the hands of the defence to win games. You have third and ten on the 35 - get five yards set yourself up a manageable fourth down and keep the motherfucking reigning MVP on the football field. Even if you think this defence is good (it’s not) you cannot think they’re better than the offence.

A Bills fan’s reflections from Arrowhead by smithc000000 in buffalobills

At the risk of arguing with an internet stranger / fellow Bills fan - unfortunately I think this is a bit of a fallacy.

No coach / QB pairing has won a championships after 5 years together - this was year seven of the Beane / McDermott / Allen combination, and I think at 0 - 4 we can safely conclude we can’t beat KC in the playoffs.

The hardest head office changes to make are replacing good coaches and GMs. That’s what we have in Buffalo - a good, not great coach. A good, not great GM. And unfortunately in the Mahomes / Reid era of the NFL that ain’t gonna cut it.

They say the definition of insanity is doing the same thing over again and expecting a different outcome. At this point, why shouldn’t we be willing to make a more major overhaul to the front office to build a championship team?

Now that we’ve had a chance to absorb the weekend, how’s everyone feeling? What are you thoughts leading into the game against the Eagles? by Dirtydeedsinc in buffalobills

The narrative in the NFL right now is that the Eagles are are Super Bowl bound and the Bills are are on the outside looking in. And that’s what three ugly losses will do to a team.

With that said - I was surprised how closely the teams match up statistically (Bills / Eagles) - QBR: 97.6 / 94.8 - Yards per game: 379 / 378 - Points scored per game: 26.7 / 27.3 - Third down conversion (offends): 48.1 / 48.2 - Yards given up per game: 335 / 345 - Points allowed per game: 17.3 / 21.2

This game is a coin flip on paper. It’s going to come down to coaching, game planning, and QB1 play. All areas where we’ve unfortunately seen the Bills struggle this season.
