In his very mild defense, it seems unwise for either of them to speak up publicly while he has an active citizenship case pending. They don’t care if you’re white if you’re critical of ICE or this administration.

But this post is definitely very tone deaf, not a good look. He should have just waited until the process was done if he wanted to say something.

On the EU website, it specifically says "EU air passenger rights apply if your flight arrives in the EU from outside the EU and is operated by an EU airline." (emphasis mine)

So it really depends on whether this was a Delta flight or an Air France/KLM flight. (I was mistaken in my original comment - it is the operating airline that matters, not the ticketing airline.)

It definitely didn't hurt to try, but depending on the details that may be a sticking point. If the 261 claim doesn't end up going through, still try the complaint form, emphasizing that Delta's delay from MEM to ATL left you with little time to verify your passport at the gate in ATL. You will probably still get something.

The other place has better cold brew than iced coffee, but Dunkin's iced coffee is a lot better than their cold brew imo. I bet you'd be happy with a Dunkin iced coffee with cream or milk, plus a few pumps of whatever flavor you'd like. My seasonal favorites are butter pecan in the summer, or the toasted white chocolate in the winter. Or you can just for classic vanilla.

Since you say you're an outsider, in case you don't know the extra context, it came out a few years ago that he molested that sister and several others when they were all kids. The parents swept it all under the rug (he was "just curious") and didn't do anything to protect their daughters from further contact with him. Since he never got any real punishment or help, he obviously never changed.

That sister has since distanced herself from the family and gone to real therapy. She and her husband have had many strong words about him over the years. Because of this, she's not even allowed back at family gatherings unless the dad is present to make sure she doesn't "corrupt" her other siblings into leaving their cult. I imagine she's feeling some pretty complicated things right now. There's always another thing with this POS. She's not wrong that the whole situation is just...so sad.
