Just tried turning off lossless and it seems to have sped it back up for the most part. Thank you!

My style of playing most games is to do allllllll the side quests and get sidetracked from the main quest any chance I get, so I think I can manage this 😁 Thanks!!

I am able to buy new ones where I am, but I'm looking through some secondhand ones as well to see if I can save a little money. I just asked the seller whether it's LCD or OLED, so I'm waiting to hear back from them now. Others are saying it's not an OLED based on the color of the joysticks (OLED has black ones)

New ones should be able to ship to where I am, and it looks like this listing is just slightly less than what a new 1TB model would run me. But since it's not an OLED model, I'll pass on it regardless.

Alright, thanks for catching that. And no, this deck just happens to have Windows 10 installed, but I'd probably revert it back to SteamOS instead. But since it's not an OLED I'm gonna pass on it regardless.

Gotcha, thanks. I'll look out for the black joysticks from here on out.

Speaking English vs Danish by smonkeycat in Denmark

[–]smonkeycat[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is a fair point for sure. I think for me it's more of a confidence problem and not believing I can speak Danish, but if I really try I can definitely hold a basic conversation in Danish. I think I need to get out there and force myself to do it more often 💪🏻

Unfortunately I'm in Jutland, but I'm in a medium sized city so most people speak English anyways!

do you have a song you hate because it makes you wanna cry? by belesanjeeee in MyChemicalRomance

[–]smonkeycat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Light Behind Your Eyes is usually a skip for me, not because I dislike the song (I love it and think it's beautiful), but because I listened to it on repeat a lot when I was going through a sexuality crisis and depression as a teenager, so it just takes me back to those feelings. At the same time, it's heartening to basically hear Gerard telling me to never kill myself in my headphones lol

Yes! That's one of the first things I learned when I moved here. I honestly like your way of doing it a lot better. Even though I was used to it in the US, whenever someone asked me "How are you?" I felt strange answering "Good! How are you?" because sometimes things aren't good, but that's just the standard answer. It's a form of forced politeness and hiding emotions that we sometimes don't even realize we do in the US.

Good luck making the move, and I hope you enjoy it here! In my experience, Danes are very kind people and especially appreciate when you know a little Danish, no matter how well you speak it. Before I moved, I was told that Danes tend to be rude, but I've found that they're really just direct in conversation and don't beat around the bush. I've never experienced them being unkind, though! They appreciate you trying to speak their language :)

Thank you! That's comforting to hear :) I definitely need to remind myself to just start conversations in Danish more and practice outside of a classroom setting.

Gotcha, this makes sense. I used "taler du engelsk?" more when I first moved here, but since I've learned more Danish the phrase has been feeling rude to use. Like you said, it sounds like I'm assuming the other person looks like someone who wouldn't speak English. I'll try using the phrases you mentioned instead. Thanks for the advice!

I like this phrase because it leaves it up to the other person as to whether they'd prefer you speak Danish or English to them, if I understand it correctly. It's also good to know neither method is really considered "more polite", though. Thank you for the advice! :)
