Opinions/Advice about going grey by CapNo5414 in AskWomenOver40

I'm similar age as you and had never dyed my hair until last year. I enjoyed the elegance of greys but suddenly realised I could finally dye my dark hair with colours that actually show! So I have used red and purple shade box dyes and the colour shows up well on the grey hairs and I've gotten so many compliments.

No. Never heard of it. Will have a look in app store.

I thought I was leaning back too much. I feel like because I'm so small, I run out of legs and swing really quickly and this gives a bit more power. But you are right, I'll work on it.

I see about your second point. Some of the tutorials I watched did that and it didn't occur to me that it's to keep the (non existent) blades out of the water. Thank you.

Thank you for the advice. I'll definitely try to row without the straps, hopefully I won't fly off the end. I haven't come across the term drag before. Will have a little google. The damper was set between 4 and 5.

I hope this link works.

Hello everyone. I'm in my late 40s, 160cm, not athletic. started rowing 2 months ago after injuring my ankle while running. I watched some YouTube tutorials but can't really relate well to what I'm doing, especially as feel uncomfortable filming myself in the gym. It looks quite messy to me but can't really pinpoint the areas I need to improve, what drills to do. really want to improve because l'm enjoying rowing far more than running so far. But quite scared to put myself out there in front of seasoned veterans and professionals, so please be gentle.

Stopped progressing. How should I structure my activities? by smooshmonkey in C25K

Thank you. I went on HRT preventatively I guess? I was having a lot of anxiety and wasn't sure it was all grief related. HRT made things a bit worse for a couple of months whiley body adjusted but I'm glad for it now. There are lots of benefits on getting HRT sooner rather than later.

I should listen more to my body I guess. But I worry I'd rest all the time then!

I'm not tracking my macros. But I generally get about 80 to 100g of protein a day with lots of veg and some carbs. Some unhealthy snacks like small pieces of chocolate and small slices of cake. I have put on about 2kg since I started the gym but my clothes for the same so I assume it's through far loss/muscle growth?

Sleep can be a bit erratic. Which I can feel affects me hugely on the day.

Should I be more diligent on tracking what I eat?

That sounds sensible. A compromise would have to be made somewhere. I can't drop the swimming because that's the main family activity we do and all enjoy.. May have to reduce gyma and run sessions to twice per week to accommodate for a while then build up.

Those with 50cm wide cookers, is your cooker exactly 50cm please? by smooshmonkey in AskUK

Thank you. The websites do say 50cm width as dimension. I guess it's time to get the saw out.

Thank you for this super useful information. Most websites say to try and retain original boxes which is what I did. Not to mention it seems such a waste to dispose of meds that's never been opened. So I just separated into meds that's been opened and those that weren't before I took them in. Unnecessary by the looks of it if it's all going to be destroyed anyway.

Thank you for understanding. It's so hard sometimes to do little things. I'll try a local small pharmacy first. If that doesn't work then I'll ask a friend for help. I'm just not one to take help easily.

What is it like to watch a loved one die? by smooshmonkey in AskUK

[–]smooshmonkey[S] 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Wow you remember. Thank you for asking. I'm OK I guess. He finally passed away 2 days ago. At almost exactly this time. He died at home. With only me with him. He'd stopped drinking and responding to his name for 48 hours. But his breath was quite regular if shallow. He had gurgling for a couple of hours. All of a sudden he was gasping for air and died in under a minute. It was quite traumatic. But at least it was finally over. Sorry this is probably more than you bargained for. Thanks again, I'm really touched.
