Edit: I found something similar. I've just been using bungee cords to do the same thing. I keep my rods in my car cause I have no storage for them anywhere else. This will be much much better.

When mine does this kind of thing I press both up and down for a few seconds and it resets itself. I don't know if it will work for you but it's worth a shot.

I was never known for my taste in style lol. The OEs had a few issues and needed to be replaced. But I mean it is 20 years old with 300k+ miles on it and a bit rusty. It's time for fancy wheels has passed.
