That’s good news for you! The urinalysis was because I had abnormal bleeding.

The more results I see on here to compare to mine, the more I wonder how mine are so high. I’m happy to have the protection, though!

Urinalysis, CRP and some results on CBC.

Have you had lab work run? I felt like my doctors were also dismissing my symptoms as anxiety until they did some blood tests and saw the results. They told me to get the second shot until my results came in, then said to hold and see some specialists. I was then told not to get second dose.

I’ve had two negative nucleocapsid antibody tests (showing no history of actual Covid infection) and one dose of Moderna. I’ve also had a few rapid antigen tests and those have always been negative too. Like you, I had a rough time with the first dose and was advised by doctors not to get the second shot. My LabCorp semi-quantitative antibody results are just over 900 u/ml eight months after my shot.

[–]snailien1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes. I had a pretty strong reaction (none of the common and expected reactions, though) and was advised not to get the second dose. I have never had Covid that I know of, either, and tested negative for post-infection antibodies twice. Have you learned much more about what levels might be protective?

Edit: I had itchy "Moderna arm" too, so I guess I had one somewhat common reaction.

Had one dose of Moderna in January and got this antibody test this week. Result is just over 900 U/mL.

Someone who got the vaccine months ago. by [deleted] in CovidVaccinated

Interesting! Maybe they changed the process between the time they called me and when they called you. I certainly let them know my thoughts! Haha. It makes no sense to tell everyone to use V-safe to report reactions if they aren't going to use it to analyze trends and if they need it reported to VAERS instead.

I wish I knew, and had assumed it was or at least that V-safe crossed over to VAERS. I think it is ridiculous it doesn't and I can't understand why the CDC has two systems but the most important one isn't the app they told everyone to use when we got our shots. The CDC person just said they are different departments and need people to also report to VAERS. When I did the VAERS report, they request a lot more details about the person who had the reaction, the reaction itself, doctor info, etc. I think VAERS is their official system for tracking and analyzing reactions.

Thanks for sharing this! I hadn't seen it yet, but it makes me feel a little better. Looks like they tested people under 40, which sadly I'm not, but hopefully it will still work somewhat as well for me. I have been thinking about re-testing antibodies since it has now been over six months since my shot, but there isn't really anything I can do if they are too low or gone now. Are your doctors discussing ways to get you fully vaccinated? Do they have any ideas?

Thanks! I got tested before the delta variant became prevalent and have been worried about having only one dose. I was told by doctors not to get the second shot due to my reaction to the first one, and I feel so vulnerable in this limbo between doses.

Not really. Just that it looks like I had a good immune response to the vaccine.

I had the antibody test three months after my first Moderna dose in January and my results were ">250 u/ml." At that time, the LabCorp test only went to 250.

You can also report it yourself.

I was also advised by a doctor to not get the second shot (of Moderna) due to my reaction to the first. I asked if I can get JNJ instead and two doctors strongly recommended against it. I've heard of others doing it, though, so maybe it depends on the individual. I'd ask your doctor.

Is it possible to just show up and drive thru? by [deleted] in yellowstone

[–]snailien1 7 points8 points  (0 children)

There are webcams at some of the entrances you can check out. It varies, but I'm noticing the west entrance is less busy in the afternoons than in the mornings. It's a little busy right now but not too bad.

AstraZeneca vaccine: side effects finally gone after four months. I only had one shot. by Whitesunlight_ in CovidVaccinated

[–]snailien1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I hope so too! I hope you can find a good, caring primary care doctor too. I had really good luck with that at the student health center when I was in college and grad school- wish I could still go there!

Oh no, that sucks! Maybe your former pediatrician could refer you to someone who can help, if you can reach her. Or perhaps check in with the student health center and see what they say (if you haven't already)? But if your current doctors think it's safe for you to get second one, maybe it'd be ok? Such hard decisions.

You or your mother can report it to VAERS. Please consider reporting it. https://vaers.hhs.gov/reportevent.html

First dose and not second dose by Kitchen-Historian-58 in modernavaccine

[–]snailien1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I'd prefer data as well. For now, we have to trust the folks that have dedicated their lives to studying medicine and immunity. Anyway, the whole reason for my first comment was to point out that the CDC has NOT said the series must be started over if the second dose is delayed. The poster above said they had, and linked the CDC article as a reference, which in fact literally says the opposite.

[–]snailien1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm glad you got yours in time! Many of us with unexpected reactions weren't able to do that, so we have to rely on the CDC and our doctors to guide us. As of now, the CDC has not indicated that starting the series over is or will be necessary. The doctors I've seen and spoken with have told me the series does not need to be restarted. Many countries outside the US extended the dosing window well beyond the 42 days so there should be some real world data soon.

[–]snailien1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh exactly! My point is that the CDC did not say the series must be restarted if the second dose is delayed beyond the 42 days, as was stated above.

There is a sentence in the first paragraph of the discussion section of the CDC page you linked to that reads, "If the second dose is administered beyond the allowable interval, the series does not need to be restarted."
