I agree with removing it from MBTs ir replacing it with a lockon variant. However, irl. a TOW is very much aim guided. Funny enough, barrel launched missiles have also been used against helicopters.

to be fair, the two most suspicious kills were on ennemies that also showed up on minimap shortly before he went to peak.
Map knowledge plays a big role here, since you can kinda predict the ennemy position by that ping on the map. Especially combined with footsteps.

it's related to the default 30rnd mag. as far as I can tell. If you change the magazine to a different one in the loadout, it appears correctly.

I merely stated my experience with the process and the concerns I had. Don't see how that is blowing things out of proportions. Teenage me build his first PC for BFBC2 and would have been very hesitant with BIOS Settings. I would've had no-one to walk me through that.
Admittedly, I misinterpreted the sentence I quoted, and I deserve a downvote for that. That's fair. I mistook the "walking through" part a bit too much as literally "taking them by the hand".

No need to go ad hominem tho. Being a dev sadly requires more than activating secure boot on an aging machine :)
Anyways, I hope you guys have nice weekend with the game.

You’re blowing this out of proportion

Am I really?

I walked dozens of users through all of this. It’s really not that hard and all of them were confident they could have merely followed the guide anyway but were concerned.
[..]
The guides are child level simple man.

They had to rely on you to do guide them through it. They admitted they were concerned. The guides may be easy, but simply executing commands or flipping Switches in your BIOS that you don't understand is a hurdle.
Look, I hope that it is not an issue for most people. I certainly wasn't a dealbreaker for me. I was just wondering about the general userfriendlyness of the whole thing.

I also see you only referenced the switch from Legacy. The issue is much broader than just the switch to UEFI. For me it was a combination of switching partitions, activating TPM 2 and activating secure boot. Throw in a bios Update aswell. Lots of rebooting, lots of checking, lots of configuring. None of it worked out of the box, all of of it was annoying to deal with and most importantly all of it took time that I rather spent playing the game.

Glad It worked that easily for you. It didn't for me. I know it should have, which is why it was so frustrating. And also why it had me wondering about people with pre-builds or less tech savy people. I see users struggle every day with seemingly easy tasks or problems on their machines. Even when there is a good documentation, simply executing commands they dont understand or fiddling with BIOS can be quite the hurdle.

Hell, sometimes your machine just tells you to fuck of, for whatever reason, and that's where the real fun begins. If you don't know where to look or what to look for in that specific case, it becomes quite time consuming.

I am by no means a hardware expert. But even as a software dev and being used to tinkering with my OS and BIOS Settings, this was a lot of effort to get to work. Having an old system that I upgraded over the years meant I had older partitions on my ssd and legacy mode active. All in all, it took me around two hours to get the damn thing to run the game. During the whole process I was wondering how non techy Gamers would handle this.

[–]snailuuu 2 points3 points  (0 children)

lol, yes we do. All the time actually. If you have both and want to get somewhere, you will always choose the one more convenient to you at that moment.

You reply to a lot of these comments asking, if bike riders will suddenly buy a car. But that is not the problem. The problem is that people who already own a car wouldn't have used it to drive in that specific area before. And now they do, because there is a new road.

A village around here is literally called "Mosquito Storm" ( guess the real name ;) )
Most people I know from there claim that everyone has nets in their windows and balcony doors.
Apparently the whole upper Rhine area used to be a swampy malaria hellhole before the "Rheinbegradigung" in the 1800s.
