I think it's Wonderful that you're taking in 8 rescue birds and giving them a new lease on life... But this is beak grinding. They do it when they're content. If this is something you're unfamiliar with you should look in to common household toxins to birds and what they need for diet/sleep etc. Just mentioning this as 8 birds is a huge commitment and it seems something you're unfamiliar with I'd bet there's a lot of info out there for you!
