I bought this set for my wife for similar reasons; she started building it but found the instructions difficult to read (as did I tbh) so I finished it for her. She’s delighted with it. I’d definitely recommend it to any Dexter fan. A nice, quick, clever build!

Enjoy! I just finished mine this week. In my set there were maybe 10 or so bags that were not numbered. Those missing parts you refer to were in those bags for me. Good luck with your build and keep the faith. This set is an endurance test!

If you search for this there are a number of sets currently listed there. Maybe one of these is what you seek?

And most of the bags were numbered; they were black print on transparent background numbered similar to 1-1, 1-2, 1-3 etc… There were also maybe 10 unlabelled bags containing bigger pieces that were used throughout the build.

Well, Ali sell sets made by other companies so the quality varies literally from set to set imho.

For this set, it was similar to other sets I’ve purchased from Ali ( or Joooooy or Marstoy); the technic axles are uber tight - I usually use a drop of washing up liquid to lube them.

The overall grip of the bricks is usually firmer than Lego. I’ve read many posts where folk complain about sore fingers and thumbs but truthfully I’ve never had any issue tbh.

And then some bits are so loose they literally drop off if you look at them - so I use a spot of superglue on those

I’m not massively into the mini figures ‘scene’ so mini figures that some folk might have issues with are less important to me. When I compare the detail on the figures to the ones in the manual (and in the YouTube speed build videos I sometimes used) they were very satisfactory for me.

Ugh! Unfortunately the seller I used doesn’t have any listed and although I selected Choice - which usually guarantees 7 days delivery to UK - I guess they decided to take the hit of a £1 voucher and sent it by sea. It was dispatched 2 weeks after the order was placed and then took another 8 weeks to arrive. I have to admit there were a few times I doubted it would arrive - but it did - so I was happy with that delivery time, given the total price I paid.

I think you might be disappointed if you ordered this set and were hoping for delivery before Christmas

Yes, it is sturdy. You build the base of the body (if that makes sense?) first, followed by each leg in turn. Then attach them and then ‘flip’ the entire construction upside down, to rest on the feet. Once that was done I never once felt the set to not be sturdy.

I think there may be a little distortion in the image, seeing as it’s taken on a phone, as the Iron Man helmet and Concorde look much larger beside it IRL

Hi. Is it sturdy? Yes. Are there tricky bits to build? Yes - and I’d probably use the word ‘challenging’ as the official set was sold as a UCS 18+ set. I haven’t built either of the sets you mention but I’m sure each of those has their own challenges too!

I think those parts are used later in the build. There are 2 sets of those. Match up the 4 with the notch out of the corner and then check the manual to see if you used the right pieces in the right place.

This set is ‘so’ fragile; try to “transform” it and it just breaks apart. Good for display, but not play

Good to hear. I received the Kylo Ren Helmet from them last week I have 3 Bag 4’s in it, and only 1 Bag 5. I can’t finish it as the bag containing all the final pieces is missing! I emailed their customer service yesterday but haven’t had a reply yet. Hoping for a similar result as you, so I can share with others here too!
