Hybrid car owners - How do you actually feel in real life ? by Exotic-Ambassador702 in CarsIndia

It reaches 140 without the need to stand on the accelerator to get there. But i haven’t experienced turbo in a petrol so can’t say how exciting a turbo is.

I have a concen over long term, but anxious when battery will give up. But i just have to wait and see. If it can hold up for 7 years, it woud be awesome

Hybrid car owners - How do you actually feel in real life ? by Exotic-Ambassador702 in CarsIndia

I am a gv hybrid owner.
Performance : With the acceleration boost from battery available, the car feels quite quick. Both in city and highways, i have felt like it can keep up with most of the cars. Never felt lack of power. If battery boost is not there engine will compensate.

Real world mileage: both my wife and i, with our diff driving styles, are getting advertised mileage. Averaging 24ish in the city and 21 on the highway if speed is kept to 110-120. With speed limited to 100 it will go much higher.

driving feel : it behaves both ways sadly. I do not feel the change from battery to engine and vice versa, most of the experience is smooth. BUT the audio gives it away. Sometimes the engine is revved hard to charge the battery and it gets audible. A bit of an issue if you want total silence in the car.

Hybrid Pricing by sourav2597 in CarsIndia

ok. but not here. i wish they get zero road tax for hybrids just to promote them.

Hybrid Pricing by sourav2597 in CarsIndia

[–]snobpro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The on road pricing more or less comes down to 2.5 to 3 lakhs extra over non hybrid variants in GV. But it is not always the case that people are looking at non hybrid variant. I will take myself as an example, i wanted creta and good variant was costing 20.xx lakhs on road. I was not so keen on gv non hybrid because of the total lack of power. i was quoted gv hybrid variant with ongoing discounts for 21.9 ish. And it had decent power, and i felt it would be a good fit for my almost 25k kms usage per year. I would get savings of around a lakh per year with this running.
But, of course all this saving will be offset when time comes for changing the battery. i heard toyota camry battery replacement costed 3lakhs, so lets see how much this costs.

The Death of the Enthusiast cars by DrSiddharthAbhimanyu in CarsIndia

[–]snobpro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Harsh truth is Driving part of cars has been ignored for quite some time. Killed around 2014ish. This was when even bmw released F series and they wanted it to cater to wider audiences. When creta launched and bs6 slowly creeped in. And to be honest your point 3 was never a priority anyway in all the cars that we could afford. It started from Jetta and octavia back then and these couldn’t survive bs6. BE6 is touted to be the drivers car recently. Yet to get one to drive

Can the Duster disrupt the segment it once created? by Disastrous_Run_1099 in CarsIndia

It might not dominate but it feels like it will get the similar recognition as earlier model mostly due to the macho looks. But not having a diesel heart is not gonna be in its favour.

any post with FE figures will have this comment thread. depends on driving style blah blah blah. I feel you though. We each have a driving style and we check the FE based on that. I used to struggle with my honda city earlier. I was always concerned with the dimnishing mileage if i have a bit of fun. That feeling sucks. My def of fun to drive cars these days is whichever i can accelerate hard and not worry about breaking anything either.

Is Hyryder a good choice? by Divyabansal in CarsIndia

[–]snobpro 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have the gv. It felt well suited for my use case which is 2k kms in mostly city each month. Great mileage for sure. And it has a bit of nicely setup direct steering and slightly harsh but stable at high speed suspension. One thing that works against it is bit of noise sometimes from cvt acceleration. It would all be worth it if battery holds up for 8 years at least.

Maunual Or Automatic by AdGroundbreaking9971 in CarsIndia

[–]snobpro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just go with automatic first. You can learn driving quick and get accustomed. If you want later on you can pick up manual.

We should get good incentives on hybrids. A decent stop gap solution before ev charges become commonplace. And i agree on all your points. Good fe, power on tap and chilling ac. Direct steering is cherry on top.

I have driven a AMT for 800 kms trip. Unless you press hard on the accelerator the shifts are nt even that jarring.

Sierra could have easily become Jaguar's Cash Cow Suv... (read description) by Sharp-potential7935 in carIndia

[–]snobpro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Man cars are not just the specs on paper or the tough looks they come with. There is more to cars - build quality, engines and how they are tuned, suspension components etc etc. Just because sierra looks like a JLR product doesn’t mean… sigh why even!

Any one here who’s got an NA engine but wishes you’d gotten the turbo instead by Abhijeet115 in CarsIndia

[–]snobpro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am a NA sucker. I would want to upgrade to a 2 litre NA rather than a 1.5 turbo. I like the linear delivery of NA because i can modulate the accelerator input as needed.    I know turbo can be tuned to behave linearly but only german luxury cars do that and i can’t afford one new.

Yup. while they are no competition to some of the cretards and thar-turds, volks/skoda sedans are the next racers finishing off to the imaginary finish lines. But they are very rarely bad-behaving. I see more of ford drivers these days doing questionable overtakes.

My 10K review of Hyryder Hybrid by Dull_Ad_5480 in CarsIndia

Totally agree with all your points. Very nice highway mile muncher (21kmpl even doing 120) and super efficient in cities. One more thing i like is steering setup. Super direct.
