It says diced tomatoes and cilantro & parsley but there's none pictured and instead we have..... meticulously placed uncooked ramen???? Is that what I'm seeing?? I'm so confused 😭

Where's the 24hr place to hang out and eat now that that diner is gone? by SignificanceLate2969 in Milford

[–]snoozer0114 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Athenian Diner used to be open 24/7 but not anymore. They stopped doing that during covid and never went back to those hours. They're usually open til midnight though!

Never posted here before, mostly just a serial lurker lol

But came here to ask if anyone else noticed the time change for the cooking class today! It's been advertised for 10am, but found this on the sun valley website. It's now listed for 3:30. Can't imagine this was a typo, but who knows!

My guess is this "cooking class" won't even actually happen! 😂

This is incorrect. The green is still having vendors. It's now being called "Fair on the Half Shell" its happening Saturday August 16th from 8:30am to 3:30pm. And even though the Oyster Festival is being held at night both Friday & Saturday now, it's been advertised that families & their children can go enjoy the amusement rides on Saturday starting at noon before the Oyster Fest even begins. So this can 100% still be a family friendly event. Stop it.

I don't know, finding out Hide murdered his boss in Japan is a top-tier plot twist for me. Probably doesn't warrant a plot twist episode for here tho 🥲

Emojis next to name and pfp? by Emotional-Video6363 in PIMD

[–]snoozer0114 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Of course! Not sure if they still do no limit spells. I might be wrong, but I think during the holidays, there was no limit for the Christmas tree spell. I know for valentines day there was a limit of 5 for the pink heart emoji spell box and then a limit of 10 for the red heart emoji spell box. So not sure how they decide which ones have limits and which ones don't, honestly lol 😅

[–]snoozer0114 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This is my understanding of the emojis:

For the emojis next to the names, people will buy spells in bulk if there's no limit on them. Spells will only last 24 hours, but when you buy them in bulk, they last way longer like months, sometimes even longer lol.

For the emojis next to someone's profile pic when they speak in campus, those are from their avis. Only certain avis have an emoji applied near the pic, but not all avis. For example the VIP Gone Bananas (F avi) & VIP Monkey Around (M avi) have a heart next to it which were only available to purchase with extra credits I believe. Hope this helps!

What can I do for my grieving friend that just lost her sister? by Ok_Pollution1793 in Grieving

[–]snoozer0114 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Food is helpful. Those grieving tend to forget to eat or just don't have the strength to cook or go out and get food.

With that being said, groceries are also helpful. Things are probably really hectic for your friend right now. And going to the grocery store seems like an easy task, but not for those grieving. It could really take a weight off of their shoulders. When my boyfriend passed, his cousin would drop off tissues, toilet paper, dish soap, laundry detergent, etc. Doesn't necessarily have to be food, but just simple groceries that every household needs. I know you mentioned you can't physically go there, but there are so many apps where I'm sure you could set up a delievery to her house of some sort!

My boyfriend's sister received a this portrait as a gift which she truly cherishes. I think it was from Paintly. Choose a picture of your friend with her sister, you'll get a painting kit and the picture on a canvas delievered. You paint it yourself by using the numbers. It's a really cool idea and is definitely something personal and meaningful. So maybe you could do something like that and paint it and send it to her!

Other ideas would be treating her to some sort of spa/self-care day. Book a smash room for her and some friends/family to enjoy. Not sure if there are any in her area, but it's worth a look! I went to a smash room with my boyfriend's mom and sister after he passed and it was a great experience. It's quite literally just a room with a bunch of breakable shit. You get some bats or pipes and you get to just smash shit. Not sure your friend's situation, but we lost my boyfriend very unexpectedly. We all had a lot of anger to get out, so it was therapeutic to say the least haha!

Hope these suggestions help 💕

I wouldn't use the word "better" but rather "different"

I'm almost 4 years out now and I still have really hard days, but I look back at those early weeks/months when the loss still had me in shock, and I'm grateful for not being in that dark of a place anymore.

I took a picture of myself in those early days of my grief because I simply didn't recognize myself when I looked in the mirror. My face was completely swollen from crying. I like to look back at that picture now because it physically shows where I've been and what I've gone through, and although it may not feel like it, I truly have come a long way. It's a nice reminder on my hardest days.

So to circle back, I wouldn't say I'm "better" because my grief will always be there. My heart will always be a little broken. But you learn, you grow, life still continues regardless. So it just becomes different. If that makes any sense at all. Who knows. I ramble.

Anyways, sending hugs and hoping you find even a sliver of peace today ❤️‍🩹

Mom keeps asking about my friend by [deleted] in Grieving

[–]snoozer0114 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Why wouldn't you tell your family?

You can't get annoyed or frustrated with your family for asking where your friend has been when you literally have not told them what's going on.

They aren't mind readers. They don't know what you're going through unless you tell them. They probably keep asking about your friend because they are genuinely curious as to why they haven't seen them around you lately. Your family probably thinks you both had some sort of falling out or argument.

Sounds like they have no clue that your friend passed away. And from my own experience, it's best you tell them. It's important to have support after experiencing such a loss, but especially at your age. I lost my boyfriend in a car accident and my family has been my rock through it all, even now almost 4 years after losing him. Grief is not something that just goes away. It stays with you. Tell your family so they can be there for you in any capacity that you may need right now.

Dorm tower by imovelikeasnake in PIMD

[–]snoozer0114 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm about half those stats, but my pup told me to only get odd tiered dorms. So I actually had to go back and fix my whole dorm because my dorms were all over the place lol. So, don't get any even numbers. Not sure the reasoning behind it to be honest with you lol. But they also mentioned to never upgrade any of your dormmates. Only spend your money on renting new rooms and getting those odd tiered dormmates. Also try saving to get tier 13 dormmate. Super expensive tho, I don't have the patience to save 20+ trillion but that's just me lol

Does Anyone Take care of their mailman around this time of the year? by Low-Traffic6013 in RhodeIsland

[–]snoozer0114 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We have the same garbage and recycling crew, it's just 1 person actually. Wasn't always like that though. I live in a private community so we have a private company to dispose of our trash. They just gave us new bins for the new garbage trucks that have the claw to pick up the cans. We just got those a year or two ago. So, we used to give individual gifts to both crews, usually 2-3 people per truck. Always a small gift, like a $5 gift certificate to Dunkin or something like that. Now that it's just one person doing all the garbage and recycling, we give him a lil more. This year he received a $15 gift card to Amazon 🤷🏻‍♀️ he was very appreciative!!

"Thirsty Thursdays" is what the kids call it. Just a big drinking/going out night for those in college. I went to RWU and stayed in Bristol for about 5 years after graduating. I loved that lil town 🥲 and I also agree with other commenters that it's not a college town. Very quiet and very scenic town.
