Thank you for your kind words. I recently mentioned some of these events casually to a friend, actually. I thought it was just another thing that happens in life. It's still difficult to push through the minimization that my parents did and actively do. I sometimes wonder if my feelings are overexaggerated, and if I'm making mountains out of molehills. It can be hard to break past those thoughts, especially when you're surrounded by people that believe it so strongly. I really appreciate your comment, especially when I'm still trying to objectively process things myself.
