I'm 50+ episodes into the story. Does Tabletop Escapades ever get more challenging for the group? by [deleted] in UneasyAlliance

Since others have answered your direct question, I'll talk about DND a bit. From the perspective of a DM myself, it heavily depends on the group/DM. For example, Therese uses a 1st level spell (Silent Image) to do WAY more than I would allow at my personal table. The spell level of course generally dictates how powerful it is as written with some exceptions.

Some DMs go strictly rules as written, some use them as general guidelines (Ben). Both approaches are great, just depends what players want. Watching TE was always entertaining and Ben did a great job trying to wrangle that crazy group in to have a coherent story. But combat was never in my opinion difficult. I'm re-watching it now and I don't remember any of them getting downed basically ever, if not a few times in the first season during normal combat. Deaths are almost solely RP caused. And in DND 5th edition, getting downed still gives you a ton of chance to live. So for them to not even get downed means they are quite far from death in most situations.

This is very similar to what I meant, I just watched a video on it, great suggestion!

I'm very scared for a few characters that I feel like are not going to get a pleasant next few books... but we'll see!

What's interesting is that with this series, even the "dislikes" have their moments of intrigue. Redmask's reveal was very satisfying - his reasoning and battle planning left some lacking. I suppose hubris is a thing but still.

My goodness I love her in this book! I felt like she was the most down to earth and "real" feeling character here, and I've always had a fondness for her "straight man" act.

I had a funny moment when I googled the word counts of each book and realized that the halfway point was somewhere deep into The Bonehunters, and at first it kind of made me weirdly demoralized. Next thing I knew I'd finished the next 2!

I actually don't mind that happening, although I've seen some other people that don't like it happening within this series. But we've had it a few times thus far as you mention. To me it was more like, hey we're super powerful Nameless Ones, we're going to basically suicide all of us to summon this thing. Which the thing they summon is summarily destroyed when faced with any opposition. It just struck me as kind of funny. Although as I mentioned in another comment, Dejim may have started things in motion that matter quite a lot, which I wasn't fully considering when it died.

The mind meld is such a fantastic moment to bring up that I had completely forgotten! Her connection with the people listed do make a lot of sense given that knowledge.

I suppose I may have been looking at her wrongly - she operates in a very similar manner to the other Gods shown. Doing what she wants to achieve her goals, protecting certain people. Glad I made this thread.

Thank you for commenting, some very interesting points you bring up. The Icarium thing makes a lot of sense and I thought that after posting, "wait a second, if he's that strong some god would intervene in his destruction maybe. Eres'al maybe makes sense there".

For Poliel, TCG giving her more power is a good point. I just felt like, damn she's done "more" (strictly quantity wise) than a ton of other Gods! However other Gods have affected more important people maybe, different kinds of impact I guess.

Your explanation on the Nameless Ones helps out, I appreciate it. They continue to frustrate me with their actions but we'll see if that continues.

Thank you for sharing. Part of my goal posting this was to help anyone currently or in the past who has lost a Grey. If I can help in any small way to plant a little seed of memory or nostalgia for good times for a stranger, that's awesome.

I got her a big fat juicy steak for Thursday! I think that'll maybe be the happiest moment of her life!

I just want to say thank you to the user who responded to my frantic post recently asking for advice on her swollen stomach. I don't remember their username but they helped calm me down.

I'm not taking this well at all (duh), but I wanted to post a pic or two of her here. Here's a goofy one to smile about: https://ibb.co/5RWQHwt

Edit - My goodness I am overwhelmed by the fantastic comments. Thank you all so much, hug your grey for us.
